Everything is slowed down right now due to the pandemic and USPS cutbacks. I've had some oversees items come quickly and some take way longer than usual.

Hey Roberto, I had the exact same issue as you this month, I ended up receiving mine after about 3.5 weeks

I did however, place a second order for more Bonsalopes on 8/17/20 and I received that order yesterday. But no worries, I've been in contact with Mila and she has kindly offered to send me a new order. The customer service seems to be great with this company. Roberto

Not to mention the quality of his wallets, but Gerard's customer service is also top notch. Such a gentleman he is.

Hey guys,
I just went to re-order the Bonsalopes from Propdog.com and unfortunately, they're out of stock. Has anyone found a supplier of these envelopes in the USA? Based on my last order, 100 envelopes shipped to NYC, they came to about 45 cents per envelope which is pretty expensive, in my opinion. Propdog is great, they ship fast, and their customer service is excellent but 45 cents per envelope is a bit pricey. I'd love to find someone that will make these here in the US. Roberto

Maybe a stupid question, but will there be a vegan version of this wallet in the near future? Consider me game when that happens, even willing to pay extra

UPDATE: last week, Gerard from secrettannery reached out to me and told me he had a pu faux leather (vegan) wallet left for sale! I didn't expect a mail at all, he even said he would give me some extra slides and envelopes as a "wedding gift (thank you so much!)" Since I got married last week!
This is all stuff he didn't had to do, but he did it anyway and all the way through he was very friendly and didn't push me at all to buy the wallet. As of yesterday, the wallet has already been sent to me, and although it's the original rebel(I hardly use any cash money, only cards anyway) I can just applaud such friendliness and top notch customer service. I didn't even receive the package yet and I'm already giving this 5 stars, urging everyone to buy from Gerard! 5 stars already, would buy again! Time to put my bulky JOL back in the drawer, it's too big for me anyway (although I used it as my regular wallet without performing for five years, since I took a magic break for that long) |

Gerard is on a very short list of true professionals and gentlemen within this business. Top marks from me as well.

Has anyone heard from Gerard lately? My girlfriend accidentally threw away the box my Rebel wallet came in and now I don't have access to the link to his instructional video. I've tried emailing Gerard several times but have not gotten a response. Thanks.

Just got the new rebel elite. I love the look, but the loading compartment is way smaller and tighter than the original, leading to a much fiddlier and unreliable load. Anyone else have one that's experienced this? Should I break out the seam ripper?

I've had the wallet for about 4 months or so and have went through many bonsalopes in practicing the load and I seem to have it down pretty smooth now. However, one of the challenges that I still come across at times is that when loading the card (I keep the wallet in my inner jacket pocket) it does not fall all the way into the envelope which does not allow the envelope to seal which is detrimental to the effect. Bottom line, you have to make sure that when loading the card that you push that card all the way in with the tips of your fingers otherwise, the envelope will not seal. Btw, I have written to Gerard several times asking him to kindly send me the link to his instructional video as my girlfriend accidentally threw out the box the wallet came in, but Gerard has yet to respond to my numerous emails. Can someone please send me the link? I would really appreciate it. If necessary, I can forward you my order confirmation email to show proof that I purchased the wallet. Many thanks!!! Roberto

Wow just got the Elite. Terrible design. What’s with that strap??? Cannot figure out how to load the card as it gets hung up on that strap. Also the download instructions only cover the original Rebel. Again wow! Overall very disappointed. Lot of money too grrr

So you pull the strap out, then load the envelope in that slot with the mouth of the envelope in the correct orientation of the load slot. So when the envelope is ready to be removed, to pull that strap and the envelope pops out. If this does not make sense, I can DM you some more info. Thanks! I sold my original Rebel Note to buy the Elite, and also eventually went back to the Rebel Note, selling the Elite. I don't like the strap, which causes hangups, and my wallet also had a load compartment that was too narrow to fit a card prior to my breaking out the seam ripper. I agree that the Elite is a step down from the standard rebel note.

Would appreciate an in depth comparison of the three (regular, note and elite). I looooove the look of the elite with the blue leather but worry about the functionality. I wish the original came with some blue accents or something for a more modern look.

I have the original rebel and the rebel Elite, I don’t have the note because it didn’t appeal to me because this style of wallet would not normally have a note compartment and I think Gerard added it because of people wanting to use it as their everyday wallet. I use my card to wallet as a gigging wallet not my everyday wallet. I made the mistake of using an absolutely beautiful Tony Miller wallet as an everyday wallet only to see this thing of beauty eventually become battered and tatty. My replacement of that wallet gets treated with the love and care it deserves (yes I have a magic wallet problem).
I do like the Elite both from a style perspective and I actually like the strap from a functionality perspective because it allows a spectator to remove the envelope easily. For me though the original Rebel was sheer perfection in both form and function. Out of my vast collection of wallets (the rebel note is the only one of Gerard’s wallets I don’t have, I also have all of Tony Millers, Joel’s, Kaps, most of Harry Robson’s and more), the original Rebel wallet is my absolute favourite. Even if I didn’t do magic I would keep and use my rebel. Mark |
