Thanks for checking it out Atlas!
Your friends idea is very sneaky, that would be killer. The box can also be used for a very deceptive switch. You show the box empty, any card is selected and placed in the box, you close the box but leave the card sticking out a little bit under the flap... It reminds me a little of Ryan Schlutz' box switch (in his ATT lecture as well as his latest book), but with a different (gimmicked) method. You could potentially even combine Ryan's idea with the Peek-a-Box and get multiple outs. I haven't tried that, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Just a little bump because some of you guys are missing out on some really killer utility devices!
The Peek-a-box especially has continued to get great reviews and praise. Also, so far, nobody else has figured out the bonus contest. I'd suggest to all purchasers to take another look and see if you can figure it out.

Matt and I have corresponded a bit over the last year or so - sometimes he shares with me, sometimes I with him - so I'd seen or discussed most of these ideas with him. He sent me the video before it was released for any feedback I might have and I'll tell you all what I told him:
- I think a lot of people will enjoy the peek box. It's great that it still functions as a normal card box and it's SO simple to construct. (I'll add that my "prediction" of people's reaction to the card box has come true based on the comments present in this thread!) - The "TC Envelope" is a GREAT update on a classic gaff. The ability to show it as normal from the inside is wonderful. Sometimes it's the little touches that make the biggest difference. - As a fan of Manos Kartsakis' "Drawing a Blank" (from UnVeil Part 1) I really enjoyed Matt's "123 Peek". I'm a big proponent of having multiple strategies to accomplish my favorite plots. The obvious pro with Matt's approach is that you get the peek at the outset and end clean with the "hot" card under their hand. The con is that it requires just a bit of preparation (but that's not necessarily a bad thing). Lewis Le Val's "The Reader" (from Praecantrix) accomplishes a similar end result as Matt's handling but Lewis' requires a sleight that some don’t love. - The "H. Dent Envelope" is a clever idea as well (as is the name Matt's given it!). It's probably best suited for pre-show work because you don't have immediate access to the stolen card - but as Matt says in the download, people should be able to find a use for it in a specific context. All in all this is a great little download that delivers EXACTLY what the ad-copy purports: 3.5 UTILITY TECHNIQUES. Best, Drew

I had messaged Matt about some unrelated envelope products and ended up trading material with Matt. He, in very clear fashion, has elucidated some wonderful tools and ideas. I think these are very practical, real world methods. I will be experimenting with 123 Peek , which I really loved. This opened up a world of possibilities. I think this has potential to be extended beyond the peek and utilize the method for much more than discerning information. I am grateful for the ideas and will be putting them to good use. Wonderful thinking!

Thanks Drew and Sean!
Regarding the 123 Peek, to be honest I hadn't thought too much about using it for other things but you are right - there's potential for more than a peek. Very interesting! Cheers, Matt

Just because no reason, I'm giving away 5 free copies of '3.5 Utilities'.
5 free copies! You must have at least 50 posts here (unless you can otherwise demonstrate that you are not an inquisitive layperson). First come first serve, and you must PM me with answer to ONE of the following questions: 1. What does 4DT stand for? 2. What is the name of Bob Cassidy's hoodoo alter ego? 3. What is the original name of the deck of cards now commonly called the Invisible Deck?
