Actors spend a lot of time researching their roles so they understand the "back story" of their character so their portrayal is much more believable. Whit Haydn created his on-stage persona, "Pop" Haydn with great care and thought. In some ways, his back story is equally as interesting as what he does on stage as this character. Since he lives as this character every day, he continues to "flesh out" the back story. And it is a riveting story. This has already become one of my favorite, top ten podcasts of the past 448 episodes. Even if you don't plan to create your own character, you will find that his story sounds like a movie plot. It is so fascinating.
I recorded this chat when we were in Grand Rapids, MI at the annual I.B.M. convention this past July. You can watch a video of his performance at the convention, read the blog, see some photos, listen to the podcast online and download the MP3 file at: https://www.themagicwordpodcast.com/scot......op-haydn

It was a lot of fun to do, Scott! So glad we had such a talk. It has been a long time.
