Anyone know the source or sources for the cards across, where a group of '10' cards are given to two specs and three cards 'magically' move to make 7 and 13?
I have many books and have looked but cannot seem to find. I know the basic premise, just looking for the write up with some detail. Thanks |

There is a version in Hugard & Braue's "Royal Road To Card Magic". It is in the "Platform Tricks" section at the back and is called "Three Cards Across".

A Robert-Houdin version was published in Professor Hoffmann’s Modern Magic in 1876.

Paul Harris's excellent Las Vegas Leaper and Bill Malone's variation on Harris's approach can both be found in the Art of Astonishment series.
Hmm, I might have misunderstood your question as it looks like you are asking for the plot's genesis rather than routine suggestions. Oh well, I'll leave the cite anyhow. |

Maybe "2001 card across"...in this DVD http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/1586
But it is the magician doing the count. I remember a version count by the spec, still looking for it |

Woody Aragon has a very magical and great effect version. You can probably find it in a book in english.

Jim Krenz has a version where the magician never has to touch the cards based on the Paul Harris handling that's worth checking out

Josh Jay has my favorite version. It uses a memorized deck, but makes an effect out of the otherwise tedious counting. It was in one of his At the Table lectures.

Old is not necessarily bad. Blaine recently blew minds on tv . part of it was done with an m.o. right out of royal road to CM!!!
