Hi all,
I am looking to buy a wireless mic set. I have looked around and I need some advice, please. Nady has an inexpensive one (body pack and receiver) and I believe I can purchase a better mic for it, but for the 150$ is it worth it? Is a shure box system better (more than double the price) as well the sennheiser (same price range as the shure). Thanks in advance. J |

Yes, the Shure and Sennheiser are far better with less problems than the Nady, for sure.
Just be aware of the frequency of whatever wireless mic you decide as if you are in the states the new FCC ruling will make many current frequency mics worthless by June of 2020. So buy in the new frequency range. |

Is the nady one really that bad? What if I replace the mic?

You get what you pay for - range, signal dependability, clarity, noise/lack of noise/interference. Nady was big in the late 80's and early 90s when RF technology was popular. Great strides have been made since then. Of course, it all depends on the quality of your sound system. If you are using a Happy Amp, Pignose or some tinny, thin sound system, the Nady will work fine. But if you are using a quality sound system, you don't want to amplify the poor signal/sound of a less quality mic.
Shure is a giant in microphone technology and an inventor and holder of many patents. Sennheiser is a quality brand, even their lower lines are better than most mid-level Nady products. Years ago I had an $8,000 Pro Series Nady wireless which was great back in the day, but the Nady you are talking about is a far cry from that. |

Shure is the way to go. Their BLX line is in the $3-600 range depending on what type of mic you purchase. Will be a very wise investment for an professional speaker / entertainer.
