Recently I have gotten an interest for editing cards, in a fashion so that the cards will give me extra values of some sort. I have split cards, created key-cards of multiple fashions, I have marked cards and I have prepared cards for the Three Card Monte. Not so big, but I love it.
The question is the following: What other ways of manipulating regular playing cards are there? And also: Is there anything I can create out of normal household stuff to be able to push the limit with cards further?

Well, first of all I want to make it clear that I wet split cards.
I have made some quartets, colour fusion cards and specific double face cards for certain effects (like one of my MacDonalds Aces got crimped). I'm not sure about doing this with dry splitting, but you can soak both a red and blue backed card. Later you peel off and put the backs flush with each other (each facing the same way). Than you take an exacto knife and while making sure that the backs are flush, cut any figure/shape/line out. Like you can do an alphabet for example cutting out block letters. You than put the outside/perimeter of one back onto the back of one face and the inside of the other colour's back on the back of the card as well in the same positions. They will match perfectly if the cards were flush when cutting. They flatten/dry the cards. You could force a card and have an X on the back (X marks the spot). I hope that made sense. Tommorow I will probably make some like that and I will take pictures and post them here. But I hope you understood that. |

I think I got it - the finished product might be e.g. a blue 7 of diamonds with a red X on the back?

Pretty much. I was thinking of spelling names, etc. with the letters. I made the X today and it looks pretty good. I'll post a picture relatively soon.
