Any thoughts/comments/experience with
Tony Clark Jumbo card fan production, FanToSee, or similar effects? Would like feedback on specific manufacturer's version of such effect or others I haven't mentioned. Your experience with such greatly appreciated. Randy Stewart |

The Tony Clark version is great,
Although I am not sure they are worth the money. |

Yeah Tony,
But you know how things go in magic. If it's innovative, or not mass produced, it's pricey. Hehehe. I've ordered two sets (left/right hand) to the tune of $120.00. I've heard good things about them. And I see your in glasglow! Wow! What's the magic scene like there? Randy Stewart Lol! That pepper cracks me up. |

I understand Kev.
However, what you do without at 14 varies from one generation to another. The only constant would be money. For example, when I was 14 I, and others my age, certainly had no computers. And the "interent" ......well that would of been an Isaac Asimov reference we would have read about - and still remain uncertain what he mean't by it all. And finally, the only interaction regarding magic was at the local magic shop or meetings. The rest was learned in books....you could forget videos or DVD's - was no such thing back then. So your doing just fine. Resources available to you and others today is astounding. Randy Stewart |

I always liked the way to faro together two halves of regular sized deck and not square them up but leave them telescoped. Then go ahead and make a "giant" fan, or you could say "2-tiered". Trying to do productions with large cards always left me cold.

Tony, borrowed the Jumbo card effects from Kovari.
I have several sets of Korari, and Tony's. The video, show steels from a table, so you would need a table with cloth. Thing is the fans are strung together with string, and that cuts through the cards, the more you work with them. I took took another ways, I discovered and tape very thing ribbon to the backs of the cards. At least they will not get destroyed. I then used that sticky roll on adhesive they sell at office stores. I did not like how the tape shined when light was on the back of the cards. I used red ribbon with red backs. It was only maybe a quarter inch wide or less. It was not cloth ribbon, but very thin. They sell it in spools for making those ribbon bows that curl up like a Christmas bow on a gift box. See you hobby shops for info. |

Kev, if you need money you have to work for it.
At about 12, I sold newspapers every Sunday morning on a street corner, from 5:30 in the morning, until the traffic going to church stopped. If I sold all the papers, I got a big $11.00 in the 1960's. The local magic shop got almost got every penny. Then when I was sixteen, the law allowed us to get a real job. So I begged the Pizza place on the corner to hire me. it took a almost a year, and got the job for a huge dollar an hour. Worked there for 3 years, never got a raise, and actually ran the place mostly, because the new owners knew nothing about the pizza business. He gave me a ten cent raise. Then got a factory job, and then was drafted into the army for 3 years, and went to Viet Nam. During all this time I bough magic props and started to do some shows. Charged $25 a show, some birthday parties. In Viet Nam they they held a local talent show, so I sent for may magic, and entered the contest. I actually won! Turned down the offer to go to the Entertainment division of the Army. Good or bad decision, I will neve know. There is more but I will not bore you. Point is find a way to earn some money, if you have some magic, create a show or act and do some sales work to sell yourself. |

Interesting story bill, if you don't mind me asking,
Why did you turn down the invite to the entertainment division? |

Because I was told, I would have to visit also the active dangerous and active groups, like the DMZ area. So if attacked, I would have to obtain a rifle as in a place there may not have been any available.
In my current station, When attacked, we had to go to supply and was handed an M-14, an very old rifle, not the M-16 that only the infantry used. The army never had the device to make the M-14 automatic firing, though it only held a 20 round clip. The Military never manufacture enough weapons for the Viet Nam war. I was given boots to small for me when inducted. They said I had to wait till I was at my assignment, so I went with Basic Training with small shoes. When I got to Viet Nam, and got bigger boots, I had to wait months for them. finally my toes did not have to suffer any longer. They were still one size to short, but being they design with wide toe area I could live with it. I wore a size 13, and finally got size 12. |

I'm surprised they didn't manufacture enough boots of larger sizes,
Having folks unable to get around well due to ill fitting equipment was an unfortunate issue. |

I was more surprised, when we were being attacked by several hundred Viet Cong that they gave me a clip with only 20 bullets.
