I really liked the link about the roughing fluid, but what materials have you guys used for fanning powder?

What's probably been used since cards were invented, Zinc Stearate powder.
Cheers!

Yeah. Zinc Stearate was used for a long time as baby powder. However, I've looked in drug stores in my area, and it can't be found as a component of any product I can find on the shelves here in Wilmington DE.

I went to a pharmacy that specializes in formulating medicines and while he didn't have it in stock. He ordered it for me, took about a week and cost $10 for 4 ounces.

A quick Google search led me here... http://advance-scientific.net/Properties.asp?CODE=ZI115
I'm sure there are other places as well. If you buy their smallest quantity (500 grams) the price is about $1.32 per ounce. Probably cheaper as you buy more. Kevin

Zinc Stearate, was used years ago to polish Wooden Bars. It made the Beer mugs slide with ease. Check Restuarant and Bar Equipment Companies in your area they may still carry it.

Why would you need 100 ounces at a time? That's a lot of slippery cards (or one very slippery bar top)...
Yes, I am a magician. No I did not make my hare (hair) disappear... it just took early retirement.
