This week on The Magic Word, Norman Beck opens up and gives us some great stories on his bridge playing with, and doing card tricks for, famous folks (like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet) and some of the crazy events his company has underwritten (like how many clown noses are in a car) and some they didn't (an escape from 100 feet of rope). He also gives us some advice on working restaurants from his early years: approaching tables, accepting tips, etc. He also gives us a preview of an upcoming article in the June 2016 issue of MAGIC Magazine he penned about "Whispering" Bill Anderson.
For those of you who don't know Norm, this is a great primer. He is an underground card guy, the author of the long running column, "Inside Straight", and a survivor of a serious brain tumor. You can see some photos, read the blog, listen to some trick reviews, hear the podcast and download the MP3 file at: http://themagicwordpodcast.com/scottwell......man-beck You can subscribe to The Magic Word on the website so you don't miss any upcoming episodes. You don't want to miss us next week as we post daily updates from the F.F.F.F. convention in Batavia, NY. And be sure to "Like" us on Facebook at http://facebook.com/themagicwordpodcast where you could push us to that magical mark of 1,000. We are just a few dozen away from reaching that milestone.

BTW, I apologize but I have learned that there was a glitch in the iTunes store with this podcast. For those who subscribe to The Magic Word through iTunes, you probably received an error message saying that the podcast was temporarily unavailable. I am not sure what happened and Apple hasn't responded with any meaningful answer. For some reason it appears to have been a problem only with this isolated podcast and only with iPhones. I did not have a problem with the iPad.
I will say that for those who use iTunes, you can visit the iTunes store and download this podcast separately. You can also get it through The Magic Word Podcast website plus Stitcher, Tunein, and FeedPress. I recommend finding and listening to this podcast. Here is what one listener (who did the "work around" to download it from Stitcher) said in a recent email: "FYI, Stitcher worked well for the podcast with Norm. Good podcast, Norm is an interesting guy, different approach to magic and to life for that matter. He takes the psychological principals of magic and applies them to everyday life situations and in his professional career. I don't think that is all too unique, but few seem to talk about it as openly and eloquently, with a good nature approach as Norm does. Thanks for your podcasts and sharing so generously."

Just a note to say that I really enjoyed this podcast with Norm. He offered a unique approach to thinking about magic, and applying that thinking in everyday life. Nice job.
