Just seen that a suit designed to carry an iPad is being sold. It has a pocket sewn inside big enough for said iPad. I wonder if it will double as a topit?

I've never seen the suit, but that sounds like a great idea. Of course you would still need some modifications by a taylor.
How many movies have I seen where a cop could spot a concealed weapon from across the room? LOL

It could work with some modifications. Personally, if I have to modify it, I'd rather start from scratch. Cool find though. I hadn't seen that!

There are photos of at least one style at http://www.cultofmac.com/gentlemen-behol......it/45758
Also, Stephen Colbert claims he invented the idea: http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2010/06/04/r......ad-suit/ Stan |

SCOTTEVEST makes a line of jackets and vests with iPad pockets ...
http://www.scottevest.com/v3_store/New_Travel_Vest.shtml or, for video showing iPad pocket, http://www.scottevest.com/company/popups......ng.shtml While not designed for magicians, the vest has about 22 pockets. Stan |

Old thread but if anyone's interested, yes Scottevest iPad pockets work very well as topits, long as you have a safety pin handy to pin the lining to your pants
luckily, each product ships with a perfect, tiny safety pin used to keep the product tag in place |

Can' t a coat hide Ipad inside? I have seen wine bottles being put in a coat.

Revisiting/reviving this thread to clarify:
I've owned the ScotteVest sport coat for a while now https://www.scottevest.com/v3_store/T5-SportCoat.shtml It's not just a coat with a built-in, ready-to-go topit; It also has 19 pockets, including internal pockets with separators in the outside flaps I don't do table-hopping or walkaround magic any longer, but if I'd had this jacket (and pants, I also wear their pants ... shirts too), I could easily carry two hours of material on me. The separators make the jacket's indexing capabilities obvious as well. Heck, you could do a decent show just wearing one of their camp shirts (7 pockets, including two nested internally) |

Avocat,
Have you actually been successful using the ready-to-go topit? Plus some other threads seem to say the multiple pockets on vests and stuff are not easy enough accessing for magic use while strolling. I don't carry a ton of stuff, but I would like to spread out stuff enough that pockets I have need separation or partitions. Plus the Topit without hiring a tailor would be super! Thanks, Steph
WHAT IF you wake up tomorrow with ONLY the things that you THANK GOD for today?

Just a heads up for those who are better tailored to slim cut suits & jackets, Scott-E jackets are great for pockets but they're generally broad styles.
& of course, near impossible to tailor too of course. |
