Stan Allen announced last week that he would not publish the 25 issues of MAGIC Legacy that he promised during the recent MAGIC Live! convention. Moreover, there will be one more edition of MAGIC Magazine (issue #301) and that he would devote his time to producing MAGIC Live! in 2017. This news came as a shock to the magic community and many expressed their opinions in the social media. After a few days passed, Stan talked with The Magic Word and addressed some of the concerns and questions people have about his decision. The first 15-20 minutes of this week's podcast is a chat with Stan Allen as he tells what was going through his mind and why and how he came to make these difficult decisions.
But the bulk of this week's podcast is with Garrett Thomas who, in this first of a two part series, talks about how he approaches tables, how he "sizes up" the people in his close-up audience and, most importantly, how to instill astonishment in his audience. He also talks about why magic should be considered an art. You can watch a video of Garrett, see some photos, read the blog, hear both Stan and Garrett online, enter the new contest, and download the MP3 file at: http://themagicwordpodcast.com/scottwell......s-part-1 This week we welcome Roscoe and RoseRed LLC as the newest member of the Friends of The Magic Word. Thank you, Roscoe, for your financial support and thank you everyone else for listening.
