Im hoping someone can offer and idea or inspiration. I want to do an 8-ball production. I have an 8-ball and a playing card that has an 8-ball on the face.
I want to do an 8-ball production from either the deck or card box. I want to incorporate the playing card but cant come up with a plot or premise to have a card with an 8-ball on it in a deck of cards. I could make up a packet with various objects, one of which is the 8-ball, force the 8-ball and do the production from a packet, but I would prefer to use a regular deck ... Any thoughts ? |

John Bannon's Trick Shot Production might be just what you're looking for.

I believe that exact effect was on the market last year. World Magic Shop reviewed it on their review show.
Yes, I found a version: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/8084 |

Bill, thanks for the reference, but Im looking more for a plot or story line than a trick. I want to develop a rationale as to why I have an 8 ball printed on either a card or card box before the production.
Ive seen some YouTube videos this this effect, and the most common story line is "you're thinking of a black 8"... |

How about trying plot line of billiards and playing game of 8 ball. All the balls are put into the pockets and only the 8 ball is left. just a thought. Good luck. Howard

Hi Scott, I don’t know how workable this would be but I’m thinking of a pick a card type trick that could involve a dl and a top change. You apparently show an indifferent card and when they say that it’s not their card you tell them then it looks like I’m behind the 8 ball as you show them that the indifferent card now has turned into the 8 ball card. You do a top change and swap the 8 ball card for their selected card which you table face down. You ask them what their card was. Then you show them that the card has turned into their selection. Finally you say something like I admit I only wanted you to think I was behind the 8 ball. If I was really behind the 8 ball it would look more like this. And produce or dump the ball on the table.
