That is such a sweet little effect. Perfect, because the technique is so smooth, and it's tied together with a story that doesn't eat the magic. Thanks for sharing.

Hi I know this is a very old thread but I am trying to locate any video of Harry Anderson performing the Monte with 4 cards (the version where he tucks the fourth card under his lapel. I watched it many years ago but try as I might I cannot find it despite hours of searching. If anyone can provide a link or information of a dvd that he performs it on that would be very much appreciated. I know there are other videos out there of other performers doing this routine but I am specifically looking for the clip of Harry.

many thanks

Brilliant! thank you so much for locating this it is much appreciated. I live in the UK and had to get a VPN to view but it is so worth it. Harry is sorely missed but his material will live on!

Now that HankLee's shop is closed, where might someone purchase the Joe Riding 'Only 3 card trick with 4 cards' WITH JUMBO CARDS, please? Any one know?

Is this Joe Riding effect available? Published?

Try Stevens.

Last I checked you could get the effect with the cards or the Ken Brooke booklet by itself.

At Amazon, 2 packs of Jumbo Cards for $7.14 https://www.amazon.com/2-Pack-Jumbo-Play......1LZAIRXT
I used to get these from a local Dollar Store, but many Dollar stores have disappeared... including that one. Still $7.14 is a good price.

For Super Jumbo Oversize Playing Cards 8.25x11.75 Inches, $9.99 per deck. https://www.amazon.com/Midway-Monsters-O......085TMQW8

Joe Riding's routine is your "go to". There is a video of his lecture available for download. https://llepub.com/index.php?main_page=p......s_id=518

Not in English but this might be of use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BrT8Zdy8Jg to see what can be done. Patrick Page also had a nice item "The One in the Middle" which you might like. Smile

Note: The card sleight leading to Edward Victor's E-Y-E trick made the rounds in the 1950s, leading to what we call Color Monte (from an early issue if Ibidem) and then thanks to Alex Elmsley - to Joe Riding's routine. Very shortly after Elmsley showed his count the platform performers including Jack Avis and Fred Castle were using jumbo cards and putting cards behind their lapel or into a card stand. See Expert Card Technique for the miniature version of those items.
