I discovered some low voltage neon wire on the net and bought some to make a costume.
The owners of the website decided to have a contest to see how people were using this wire. I got 1st place!! As a result, I have won more glow wire. First of all, does anyone have any suggestions for using such a product in building illusions. I am thinking of making a sign for my show. I am also thinking of using some for enhancing some BLACK ART illusions instead of using "audience blinding light". Any ideas if this would work? Any other ideas on how to use the wire? See the contest and my winning entry HERE See the wire and colors available HERE |

That's just wonderful! Were you sponsored by EverReady or something? 684 volts!
I have been thinking about upgrading my Gypsy Fortune Teller booth by making a "neon" sign with EL wire. There is nothing like "neon," especially flashing neon, to turn heads on the midway at night. There are some very impressive costumes at Burning Man using EL wire. Search the image archive for "mobile art." Sorry I don't have any illusion ideas... Thanks for posting this, and congratulations! |

You can use EL Wire instead of neon tubing if you make Jim Steinmeyer's trick Neon (assistant through "blade" with neon tubing).

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best adhesive to attach EL wire to hardboard for a sign?

We are using two of Solution Industries products as backstage guides during times when we want complete blackouts. The EL wire is great for creating a "bump-free" path for assistants who have to move rapidly during "dark times," and the blinking LED lights are used to identify danger areas, places you want to stay away from if you can't see your hand in front of your face. I know these aren't the glamourous uses you requested, but they have saved us plenty in accident insurance.

You can attach some wires to your cane (may be dacing cane..) if you have one. Try to make some connections with D'lite

You can't attach the wires to the dancing cane as they need a box and batteries to run. apart from being heavy, where would you put that?!
