I tried to access a forum earlier today & was told it was a "private" forum & I couldn't access it.
Are there such things as private forums that are different that the secret sessions & not available to the general cafe membership?

No! try again you should be able to get in.

You have to be logged in before you can access the private forums. You have enough posts, so if you're logged in, you should be able to go into those areas. If you can't, post back and I'll see what can be done about it.

Same thing happens to me.
When a topic is locked/moved, I am given the option "click here" to go to it. But it gives me "Private Forum..you don't have access"
I am logged in and don't see them in the Secret Sessions area.
Any ideas?

Aha! For various reasons, some topics are moved to forums that only the Moderators and Administrators can access. The topics are sometimes moved back from whence they came, and sometimes not.
In any case, if they are moved to these particular forums, you will get that "no access" message.
