I'm highly interested in this. Aldo always provides the easy, "why didn't I think of that" solution to the magic community. He does this without lessening the effect most of the time. I can't wait to see what he has come up with.

I had the pleasure of seeing Aldo perform this effect....
Yes, this is a very easy and inexpensive solution. However, the line "Three spectators each select a bag" is not as clean as it sounds. There is a little bit of fanagling to end on the correct bag, and if for some reason you make a mistake during the setup, you could end up with a skewered spectator. I'm not saying that this is likely to happen, but be advised that if you forget which color bag the bottle is under(due to you being sick, mindless or whatever) there could be problems. As long as you perform this responsibly though, it is a great effect and at a great price!!! |

I saw Aldo perform this effect, in person and it was explained in the lecture... There is some very minor do-it-yourself which is already done if you buy the whole package... All in all, a pretty good buy for under 20 dollars if you are interested in doing a monte type effect. |

The trick cannot be perfomed impromptu unless you have the necessary items on you.

Are you refering some special props or gimmicks...if you are refering to paper bags and bottles I believe these can be found easily with not much problem.

Also will be in Everett WA this weekend doing a lecture. I assume that he will be performing (and possibly explaning the effect). When and If I see it, (and possibly buy it) I will put a better review here.

I have just returned from Aldo's lecture up here in Washington sate. I watched him perform and explain this effect. If you have any problems "controlling" the safety of this effect...then I recommend you find another career. This is an AWESOME effect and DEAL! The price is almost a give away once you have seen it demonstrated and YES...YOU too can do it as well. This is NOT a "Creator only" effect.
Aldo has got to be the FUNNIEST guy in magic I have ever seen. He had my 16 year old Son in STITCHES laughing!! Aldo would kill as a stand up comedien without the props. He was an amazing lecturer as well and simply the nicest guy you could know. Remember, you can use anything as a climax to this effect, Light Bulb, Giant Nail on Board or Fake Doggy Doo!! Highly recommended!! Chance

I too just returned from the same lecture and let me say, this effect is AWESOME. It is so easy. You literally (sorry to say) have to be an IDIOT to mess up this trick. If you just set up right (which is real easy) then you are set to go. Also if by rare chance that you mess up (which is like 1 in a 1,00000000000000000 chance) you can feel the object in the bag when you hand it to the spectator and stop the trick.
I will perform this trick tonight! I also have to say Aldo is probably the funniest magician out there. He had a constant roaring laughter throughout his lecture and show. Oh, one other thing I thought I would mention, Chance Wolf, you may not have seen this, but after most people left after the lecture, he grabbed the light bulb out of the bag and handed it to Evan and said, "Here, take this out the door, around the corner, and down the stairs and you will see a coffee stand, one of the light bulbs is missing, please take it and put it back in the socket!" This is excellent for sure. I,ve been doing this since his lecture this year. I got a huge 6 inch spike from Home Depot and hammered it into a little piece of wood for a base.
Much easier and safer to transport the nail then a real broken jagged bottle and yet still very menacing in it's appearance! |

Well I wasnt trying to insult anyone, I'm just mentioning that unlike some versions that are completly safe, this one(If you forget which bag the dangerous item is in) has the remote possibility of skewering a spectator and ending your career. Guys, how many magicians have done the version where THEY smash their hand on the wrong bags and get impaled using methods that seem compeltly safe or are about on the same par as this one? Perhaps I am being over cautious, but I just don't like the idea of putting a laymen in danger no matter how sure you are about an effect when there is a possiblity that you can somehow mess up the trick(like I said, perhaps very serious flu, jetlag, who knows what). |

I would agree too, fool-proof or not (of which there is no such thing in magic,) it is a not-so-bright idea to have a spectator smash his hand down on a bag unless all four are empty and you secretly add the bottle to the remaining bag. Even then, if some overenthusiastic spectator slammed his hand down too hard and bruised himself, you would still probably be liable.
Nope, if you're going to impale anyone accidentally, make sure it's yourself. |

I watched the presentation and it is designed to be perfectly safe as YOU hand the bags to each specatator. Also, the bags are well away from all spectators until they come into play. And, since every bag is empty but the danger bag, you will know which is which without any doubt. If for some reason you screw up the force..then bail out of the trick or have a prepared out ready to come into play. I would recommend creating a clever out just for this reason as we all can have a brain fart now n then.
As long as you follow the very simple presenatation...nobody gets hurt. Just setting the record straight. Chance
