Hello again,

broothal,
send me an email ksanders@subterfugemagic.com and I will check and see what I can do.

pkg,
Let me check with the company that makes the rings and ask them if it will cause and problems to engrave it.

enigmaticmagic,
What you saw a few weeks ago was the demo video we were showing people. What we were looking for was if we were exposing too much for marketing purposes. We have dropped it to a few less vanishes and added in text (as you can see). We also decided not to try and fool anyone. Instead of just showing the vanish, we thought it would be best to show the ditch as well. We wanted to expose it so that magicians would see how easy it is. If I was marketing to laymen I would not show the ditch at all. However if I did that, you would have thought it was another effect out there on the market.

Thanks,
Kenneth

Pkg,
No the ghost deck routine is not on the DVD. The DVD only explains the 2 handlings that are covered in the instructions. The DVD was only put in incase we did not get our meaning accross in the instructions.

But....
We will soon have a special area for people who have purchased subterfuge through us or another vendor to discuss the whole system. This will also allow you to download new explanations of routines we do. You will also be able to upload your routines and explanations. I do not know when that will be though.

I just purchased subterfuge directly from subterfuge.com. While I already have both Elohem and MasterRing System, Subterfuge seems to be more versatile in its possible uses and the price is very reasonable. I also appreciate the creator of this effect and owner of Subterfuge.com,Sandsword, in coming on the Café and discussing this effect and answering members' questions. Sandsword seems to be an honest and stand-up person. I look forward in receiving it and will post my honest opinions about it once I have had an opportunity to learn and use it.

Michael,
It is subterfugemagic.com
subterfuge.com is an asian music company.

pkg,
I talked to the guys that make the rings for me and they said that if you try and engrave it, you may cause the nickle plating to chip off.

Mine still hasn't arrived yet from Hocus Pocus...

Waiting for shipping is really annoying. I never understand how I can get mail in letter form from japan in 3 days yet wait 2 weeks for someone to ship a small package

Sorry for the mistake. If you want to purchase a very good effect from a reliable dealer, go to subterfugemagic.com. If you want some interesting asian music to play while doing the subterfuge effect, go to subterfuge.com.

Best regards,

Michael

I bought mine directly from Subterfugemagic.com. Got it right away. Watched the DVD last night and played around with it. IT ROCKS! I love this. It's one of those rare gimmicks that opens a world of possibilities. The hook up is awesome so you can have it with you all the time.

I'm planning on using it during my halloween shows. Let me know when the haunted deck routine is online. I've starting working with a possible method but would love to see what you guys came up with.

NO! NO REVIEW FOR YOU!!!

ok, here goes.

gimmicks: The ring is a nice high quality ring. not gold or anything, but it looks nice. just like a plain silver band. Day 3 of wearing it, and no signs of wear. using the whole setup, it's near SILENT! I love it! I've been busy thinking about the possibilities of it. I just thought of a way that I can use it to do a card to wallet effect with my "real man's wallet" I'm terrible at palming cards, and this will be a GREAT help to me! thinking of it's PK uses, you can add other things to the gimmick to make it more powerful(Black Hole Gimmick) which makes it capable of doing even more! I'm sure I'll think of a lot more things to do with it as time progresses! (day 3 and I've already got a lot of them)

The setup: Setting up this utility is a BREEZE!! my other utility for vanishes (which I'll probably use "nevermore") was a pain to get set up right. this took about 10 seconds! yes, it's that easy to get in place! showing both hands empty, and then almost immediately vanishing is so easy!

the DVD: Short, sweet, and to the point! just the way I like my magic DVDs! They show the basic uses of it, how to set it up, and a few little tips on it. quality could be better....but they never said it would be a studio quality movie, so I don't really care about that! Everything was crystal clear after watching the video.

Wearing the setup: As I stated before, the ring is great. my finger just happens to be a 9 3/4 so it fit PERFECTLY! as for others, may be a little snug, or a little loose, I'm sure one finger on either one of your hands will fit either size..so I wouldnt worry too much about that. I wore the whole setup at work on friday, and not a single person noticed anything.

I still need to practice this for a bit before going out and trying it.

Limitations: There is one MINOR clothing limitations that is stated in the DVD, but I can't really say that it matters TOO much (once you get it, you'll know what I mean). This CAN be done in nearly ANY type of clothing. tank top, shorts, underwear, whatever!

Overall, I love this! I'll definately be wearing it all the time. (with a setup so simple, who wouldn't!)

I hope this review helps out! if you've got any questions, feel free to send me a PM, and I'll answer it the best I can! Thanks to Kenneth for being so honest in his posts, and for creating this great effect!!

Later,
Kevin

My review... IT FINALLY ARRIVED!

I eagerly opened the package and tried on the ring. It is quite like a ring any magician would wear, silver, but just a regular band, no designs or ornaments.

It fits with the rest of my jewelery quite nicely as its not gold, not fancy, and since its so plain I feel it does not draw undue attention to itself.
(At first I thought gee this is too plain until I realized its probably plain on purpose!)

I have small fingers and hands but the ring fit on my middle finger perfectly.
I've worn it everyday for a week and no green ring on my finger so far, I guess
that means it will be okay for everyday wear.

The video was well conceived and informative. The system itself works silently and pretty effortlessly with just a night of practice or so. The system is neither bulky or problematic, and I would consider this easy to carry and use on an everyday basis.

After a night of practice, I found I could perform the vanishes as shown in the video demo as well or better than in their demo. The system worked quite like a bird of another feather, but without the problems and hassles I've had with that
system.

I used the system to perform coin vanishes and also for changing a quarter into a dime, and for turning a penny into a diminished penny. (with some accessories I had around for other magic)

After a trip to a local magic shop for some more much needed accessories (such as some loaded dice) I found the entire system much more useful overall. There is no noise, nothing caught in my sleeve, no fishing line and really no hassles. I would highly reccomend this system to any magician.

The only downside I see, and its a small one, is that it does take a bit of practice to make the ditches unnoticable, but I feel every bit of good magic
worth performing requires practice, so this is really more of an observation
than a downside.

A few magicians I know may find this under their christmas tree, and I feel confident they will be pleased with this as a useful tool for their art.

I'm sure I will use this a lot more than most of my other close up purchases.

Does subterfuge require you to wear specific colored clothing? I may be way off base here, but if the concept I believe this implements depends on certain color clothing, can the color that is being used be changed? I hope I am making some sense here, its kinda late .

Yes....and No (wow....talk about your unhelpful answer).....It is recommended, however with practice, you can get along without it......
