I really like this. It is easy, direct and it floors people. You can use a borrowed deck and go right into the effect. I use it as sort of an impromptu 'mindpower deck' effect. You can immediately repeat the routine. (I use Higher Mentality if performing this type of effect for several specs)
The Effect: Psychometry by MJM Magic The mentalist removes five (I use ten) random cards from the deck, shuffles them thoroughly, and asks the spectator to remove one of them. This is a free choice, and the magician has no idea which card is chosen. He can even have his head turned the opposite way. Once the spectator choses a card, the magician further shuffles the cards to mix up their order even more! After the spectator returns his card to the packet, the mentalist AGAIN shuffles the cards, making absolutely sure that the card is randomly lost in the packet. (I have the spec mix the cards) Yet, despite all the shuffles, the mentalist is able to feel the energy of the spectator coming from the chosen card. After a little concentration, the card becomes known to the mentalist and he can remove the other cards from the table, leaving the spectator's card! |

I think you'll like this one, Evolve. There is a very interesting concept behind the method.

Your right, Kevvy I think this is a great party card mentalism effect. The prinicple utlized is old and easy to miss!

I recognized the technique the first time I watched the video, however it is a very old technique which I haven't seen used in over 20 years and should play very well with lay audiences.
