Does anyone have any building plans for closeup tables and cases?

I don't have any blueprints or plans, I make all mine freehand. Let me share something with you that took me four tries to figure out. If you stand up straight, with your arms straight down, but a little in front of you, the tips of your fingers should only just barely touch the top of your table. That is the perfect height.

Try the Chicane lectures notes. He has the plans for two tables, a suitcase stand and strolling table stand, plus a bunch of nice effects. Try a search here in the Café for Wayne Rogers.

My first table was one of the Mark Wilson ones. Silly me, I built it out of 3/4 inch ply and made it way too tall. It weighed a ton. That was a loooong time ago. I might comment that this design is really meant for stage work, and it's a tiny bit top-heavy. It won't fall over by itself but people will lean on it, and kids will hang on it.

I simply added a base for the Wilson table, with some mini bungees and it works great.
As to close-up tables, If I cannot use the table at which I am seated then I resort to the container or box I am using for the items I am bringing to the show. k

I have used this table with great success in my kids shows. I plan to put a handle on it to make transport easier.

I made my suitcase table per plans here in the Café (modified to suit myself of course ). I used 3/4 and 1/2 in aspen plywood. I have yet to put the doors on but it has done me well. I'll see if I can find the link and post it here. A search for "suitcase tables" produces a lot of good threads.
