Maybe it is in the phone script? Do they know why you are calling?
I would call them, and say "I know you are probably super busy right now, but you did indicate you might be interested in my services for your wedding. Is there a good time to call you when it isn't so hectic?" It is always about what is best and conventient for the client. They will apppreciate it if you recognize how busy they are and are willing to be accomodating. Just a thought.

Hi David -
These links might help you. I just stumbled across them. The Wedding Magician, article by Dennis Regling. (Found it at Online-Visions.) The Wedding Reception Magician, course by Dennis Regling. I have to smile at the second one, because there is an online article where Dennis Rengling chastises (some would say attacks) Dave Dee and Randy Charach for offering magic marketing courses which promise / imply you can make lots of money by performing, etc. So it seems like he had a distaste for that sort of thing. But I guess not, based on the fact that he offers courses / products himself, where the copy for the ad does essentially the same thing. (The Wedding Reception Magician is just one of his products / courses.) - Donald P.S. I don't own any of his products, so I can't comment on the quality of his products. Generally speaking, his articles seem to have lots of practical information in them.

I have used several different phone scripts from time to time with this site-
I stoped saying wedding magician now I use wedding entertainer- which allows them to ask "oh what do you do" then I go onto my 2 shows I play it by ear. Yeah I have done that before Robert- mainly for the corporate market Trade Shows (as they cost even more) BUT the sharing of the leads they do not agree to. However- If I approach a company that wouldm't appear on stage- and the wedding fair has a stage for entertainment- I could do a sought of sponsored entertainment where I perform on nstage and I give them a plug But I must say--- The trade shows organisers over here are money only that is they would rather have no entertainment rather than give away space for free. their is no barter system over here |

Simple guys...
First- Send an email, Second leave them a voice mail (try calling during the day) third send a post card (not a letter, they tend to look at a post card more) fourth send them a promo brochure slanted towards their event (wedding) Fallow up with an email then a phone call during a time they can be reached.... Then another post card.... BUT weddings are not always the best target market for magic shows...

Then ... take out a loan to pay for all the advertising and mailings that the show fee won't cover!
I think Curtis' suggestion may get results, but I also think that it seems like an awful lot of work and (more importantly) time chasing one gig that probably isn't high-paying. Multiply this by the 70 weddings mentioned ... |

I said Charach has some good information in his book. It is just the sales pitch leads one to think they are selling magic beans that will instantly make you rich and successful without work. My article was just a heads up that folks shouldn't buy with their emotions. That there is no get rich quick pill. Thank you and God bless, Dennis

After all, that is why you share information in your products and in your articles... to share shortcuts. Just a quick question for clarification, Dennis. Are you saying that you feel that the ad copy for your all of your own products isn't "hyped" at all? Do you feel that your ad copy doesn't promise "quick / instant riches or success" or "little effort"? Or do you feel that it is just less "hyped"? Just curious. - Donald P.S. I disagree with you about another point. All customers buy with their emotions. That's a fact. They justify it with other reasons, but their emotions are involved in their decision-making process. You and I both buy with our emotions, just as everyone else here does. How one appeals to those emotions is a different topic, though. Also, an equally important topic is the fact that some consumers let their greed or laziness control their expectations.
