I'm looking for ideas for a gospel message for a ring and rope (ribbon actually) routine.
Basic routine: Ring appears-threaded on ribbon then unlinks-threaded on and vanishes-threaded on and unlinks in spectators closed hands. I was thinking of showing this at a Fellowship of Christian Magicians meeting this month. Your help is greatly appreciated! Justin |

There was one at the International FCM, and I am really remiss in not having his name. He has the routine published, and he was working in Duane Laflin's booth. Tall fellow with a beard. Great guy too. Maybe Duane can shed some light if you call or email him. Gary or Greg??? I just don't remember.
This fine gentleman came to one of the late night sessions, with a half dozen rings and ropes to hand out and did a terrific routine, which he taught there. He said at the time that all of the copies of his routine were sold out. (it may have been in one of Duane's books...) So I kind of mentally wrote it off. And Since I didn't do ring and rope, and there were more than 6 guys there, I didn't take one to do the routine, but ever since seeing it, I have wished that I had tried it then and there. It was an excellent routine, beautifully performed, not difficult, but complete, informing, and entertaining. We were all very impressed by the routine. Brodavid

I believe his name is Doug Wathan. He has a ring and rope routine in his book "From Tricks to Truth". Duane Laflin carries the book and I believe Doug works for Laflins Magic and Silks. Hope this helps.

Yes!!! That is who it was, and that certainly is the book he referenced.
Thanks for bailing out my feeble memory, and passing on the information! Doug is a fine gentleman, and was very helpful with the guys who were practicing and learning his routine that night! I certainly wont forget him again, and will be picking up a copy of that book as soon as I can. God Bless you, and thanks again Ed! BroDavid
