Hey people,
I got the invisble deck havn't used it yet. My ideas so far is the subject of choice, I was thinking of cause and effect and how it results to the choice of their card, maybe a presentionon relating self help and how our choices guide our destiny. Oter ideas was a psychological or maybe oriental, bhuddism mystical type of way.....any thoughts ideas |

How about reality is an illusion? ie. they chose a card and it is the only one revesed in the deck, it is replaced and because reality is what you think it is another card becomes the only one revesed in the deck, then replaced and (with some mumble jumbo) their card again is the only one reversed in the deck.
An idea to play with. Craig

Good idea Craig. I always say that all the other cards reversed and theirs stayed the same.

First, learn the routine as written and performed for the last 30 years or so by people who earned their living with it. Once you understand that routine and why it works, then change it. But make sure you understand the premise before you start fixing things that aren't broke.

I like Aldo Columbini's idea of having someone think of a card, then handing them something containing a card and it usually is the wrong one. Then he folds up the card and brings out a big plastic bag of folded up cards and adds this one to the collection, saying, "wrong again." The he does the invisible deck...

I wonder why you are thinking presentational variations before having any experiencing of showing ID. I second Bill Palmer-san.

Now if you want a great presentation of an effect involving the invisible deck, may I suggest you to look at Bill Malone's version on his On the Loose DVD set. A classic!!! BILL Malone!

Agreed. You positively should learn the original effect first. There is much to be said for it. It really gets the job done. Find out why for yourself.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

Its called the invisible deck for a reason, because it worked great for that routine. Learn that first, and why would you try making new effects before performing the effect you bought? IDK it doesn't make sense to me.

There is a problem as I see it... when we perform the ID we call it the ID to the specs. A quick Google search will not only bring up thousands of hits on it but will show them where they can buy it for under 10 bucks delivered to their door! $10 is a small price to pay to settle one's curiosity. I personally don't like to refer to any magic trick by its marketed name.
I don't perform illusions... it just looks like I do!

They started by holding their hand as if it contained a deck of cards and asking, "Who would like to learn to be a magician? You, sir? Here. Catch this." Then they made a tossing motion. When the spectator caught it, they would say, "It's an invisible deck of playing cards. Would you shuffle them, please?" And they would continue with the routine as we all know it. At the end of Don's routine, he would toss the invisible deck back to the spectator and tell him to keep it -- not the real invisible deck, but the invisible one. I wouldn't worry a bit about people googling "Invisible Deck" after a show, any more than I would having them google "Snowing," "Sawing a lady in half," or any other trick. Why? They really don't care. And if you handle it correctly, they will swear that you did it differently than the one they purchased. I think you are running when nobody is chasing you. But if you want to be completely clean when you do the ID, use Orville Meyer's method. He used a regular deck of cards.

Work on the routine that comes with it, then make up your own. That fits YOUR personality. You can make a little $5 trick turn into a big thing with a perfect performance.

What else to call it? How about the transparent and intangible deck? Because, after all, it is much more than just invisible.
