Wow, I have been missing out. I live in san ramon, and I was just thinking of posting a thread about bay area members getting together. Sounds like some cool stuff has happened that I have missed out on. whats up next?

Who is going to rickyjay? I found a couple tickets on craigslist, and some are listed at the jcc website.

I just got the word from Gerry Griffin at California Magic that the Pendragons had to reschedule their appearance this weekend. No date announced yet, but watch http://www.calmagic.com for updates.

Just got out of the world premier of Ricky Jay's new show!!!

We were very lucky to get perfect center seats. Quite a thrill, great new show by Ricky Jay, and what a scene.

For those in the greater Bay/Central area, and interested in things a bit more on the bizarre side of the world, there will be a small (limit of 40 persons due to venue size) gathering in Livermore starting Fri 13 March 2009 through 15 March.

You heard it here first…

Yesterday we (finally) signed the Contracts for
a NEW San Francisco Performance Venue!

The venue will open right after the rainy-season in APRIL ‘09,
and shows will be EVERY Friday and Saturday evening, to start.

This will be an ONGOING and permanent downtown show,
in an elegant and intimate Victorian-Parlor Setting,
featuring locals performing themed Storytelling/Bizarre Magic!

Principal partners are David Miller and myself,
however we are bringing in other partners and entertainers,
as well as auditioning EARLY next year for swing-spots.

The show is Theatrical-Magic Performance-Art in nature.

How many seats does the theater hold? Is this like the Ricky Jay show with performances on stage? Or is it more intimate?

We want a "parlor" feel so we're going to try to limit it to 40 guests per evening,
it will be on a stage, but with spillover into the audience.
Keeping is small and fairly upscale we'll probably have a $30-35 cover charge.
A lot more details to come later.
