My colleague for our SF Third-Saturday Showcases, and
local entertainer David Miller, filmed a commercial today,
using his unique skills to make special Magic with an IPhone!

Congrats to David, and to bringing more Magic to TV and Apple...
visit David, along with me, and our guest the marvelous David Hirata,
at tomorrow's show. MagicParlor.Info

Hey Guys,

Hope "Share the Magic" was fun. We had a blast at the Magic Parlor this weekend.

Don't miss the Pendragons this coming weekend at California Magic--seeing them in such close quarters is just fantastic!

I want to thank all of you who came out to my show yesterday.

My next public Bay Area appearance will be my "Carnival of the Mind" show on Friday, November 29th at the Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley. The show always sells out so get your tickets early.

Ricky Jay's show at the SFJCC only has 5 tickets left as of yesterday.

Thanks Again for the support,

Jay Alexander

I just got the word from Gerry Griffin at California Magic that the Pendragons had to reschedule their appearance this weekend. No date announced yet, but watch http://www.calmagic.com for updates.

We were very lucky to get perfect center seats. Quite a thrill, great new show by Ricky Jay, and what a scene.

For those in the greater Bay/Central area, and interested in things a bit more on the bizarre side of the world, there will be a small (limit of 40 persons due to venue size) gathering in Livermore starting Fri 13 March 2009 through 15 March.

Tom or anyone with the OMC I need a contact for the group, I received a call from John Calvert this weekend and need to get his contact info to someone in the OMC.
sorry I no longer keep up with that group and can't seem to find contact info. John will be in California in Jan. and I guess he is trying to line up a lecture or some such. any group in the area interested in contactin John for a lecture in Jan please get in touch so I can pass on contact info.
Thanks

You heard it here first…

Yesterday we (finally) signed the Contracts for
a NEW San Francisco Performance Venue!

The venue will open right after the rainy-season in APRIL ‘09,
and shows will be EVERY Friday and Saturday evening, to start.

This will be an ONGOING and permanent downtown show,
in an elegant and intimate Victorian-Parlor Setting,
featuring locals performing themed Storytelling/Bizarre Magic!

Principal partners are David Miller and myself,
however we are bringing in other partners and entertainers,
as well as auditioning EARLY next year for swing-spots.

The show is Theatrical-Magic Performance-Art in nature.

Details will follow or…
email me with your questions, or if you wish to audition.

We are sooooo excited!!!!

Magically,
Walt

How many seats does the theater hold? Is this like the Ricky Jay show with performances on stage? Or is it more intimate?

Hi Rich,

Mr Calvert called me as well. I don't have Alcalay's phone and his response to PMs here has not been speedy.

Hi EDH,

We want a "parlor" feel so we're going to try to limit it to 40 guests per evening,
it will be on a stage, but with spillover into the audience.
Keeping is small and fairly upscale we'll probably have a $30-35 cover charge.
A lot more details to come later.

Thanks, Walt
