Has anyone heard of a "new version" of the DVD Fiber Optics. The "new" version will be about $10 more with "props" . I'm not sure what to think but the person seems to be reputable. Is there anything to this new version story? Thanks for any info you can share.

Is the "new" version anything more than the "old" version plus a set of the ropes? And, if ropes are included, are they made with the primo Camirand Elite Rope? (i.e., like was included in the "Three Ropes and a Baby" effect?)

At the recommendation of Al Angelo, I purchased Daryl's rope from foolersdoolers.com to make my ropes for Fiber Optics. I love the rope, and the routine. Search the forums for Al's tips on preparing the ropes so the ends don't fray. Good stuff.

The reason I asked was because I bought Fiber Optics but the person said that he hadn't shipped mine out yet because of a accident at his warehouse. He seems reputable and said when he called his supplier to get more to replace the damaged ones, the supplier said they had discontinued the "older" version and a new version was due out "soon" The person I bought from said the "new" version with props would be sent at that time at NO ADDITIONAL COST for the inconvienience. If I didn't want to wait, he'd give me my refund. I'm in no hurry and don't mind the upgrade but not if you all haven't heard of this new Fiber Optic coming out. Thanks for any advice or rumors you've heard about this. Thanks!

Old thread but:
Just received Fiber Optic DVD. ordered directly from Sanders. Everyone else I could find said “out of stock.”. So as of late December 2007 I have not found the “new version”. And it is not clear why no one has this DVD in stock. ====================================================== Quick review of disk. I really like the routine(s) very visual. But I have to figure out if I want to start with three different sizes of rope. (It is nice that they can be examined.) Also I don’t think that there are really 22 different moves. I would call it "x" moves with "x" variations of moves. = total 22 (Haven't sorted and counted all yet.) Sanders does all of this very quickly and it will take some time to figure out what my routine will become. I already know I don’t want to just copy his moves in the exact same way. I will most likely be mixing other things I know in with what I hope to learn from this DVD. Maybe some Flip and Tabary stuff. I consider this a very good purchase for me.

Please post, Tyler, of the new addition of Fiber Optics. This is one of my best purchases of a decade! It's timeless..

I don't think there is a "new version".
Richard will evidently carry "specially prepared rope" for use with the Fiber Optics routine. This information is from Richard himself: (3rd post down) http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=244 Quote: Hi Guys, Wow, great to hear about the great comments re: Fiber Optics. I have so much fun perfoming this for people. My preference is to perform this close-up because people get to experience this impossibility right in front of their eyes and they go nuts. I prefer to use ungimmicked rope as I like to be able to hand the rope out for examination before and after and in-between (you will know what I mean if you have the DVD) A great tip for the sliding ends was given to me by my friend Nicholas Einhorn, fism winner, creator of Spooked, great performer and all around great guy. He glues the end of a nail or screw into each end of the small rope to give each end a little more weight. This does not effect the rest of the routine in any way but it prevents the ends from falling off the rope when they slide down, if you are having a problem with this. Although, if you are using the correct rope this should not happen very often. Early next year, Sanders FX will be carrying specially prepared rope for the Fiber Optics routine. If you want to be kept a breast of the latest developments please join my newsletter located at the top of the page at http://www.sandersfx.com. I hope that helps guys Thanks so much for your comments End quote:

IF you noticed the ad that just showed up on the Café>
Fiber Optics EXTENDED : The 16 phase, eye-popping rope routine JUST GOT BETTER! Sad, I just ordered this directly from Sanders at the end of November and received the "old version" 3 weeks ago.
