I was wondering if anybody has either heard of Sam Eaton or seen his show called the Quantum Eye which is playing in Soho in NYC. Any info would be appreciated.

Must be on some kind of advertising list where I got an email about his show. But I hadn’t heard of him before that and I haven’t seen the show. Why do you want to go see it?

I wonder... It seems like nobody has ever heard of Sam Eaton yet he is charging $45 per ticket in a New york City venue. How is it possible that an unknown guy is playing Broadway NYC? Just wondering.

I forget how, but I stumbled across this website and show about a month ago. I'll try to catch it next time I'm in NYC.
I'm glad to see smaller shows like this gaining ground -- gives me hope! Rory

I haven't heard of him, but his site looks very professional. If I was in NY I would go see the show. There's a lot of truth in the talking and doing comment.

Jeff,
If you have any questions about putting on a show I would be happy to discuss it with you. The Quantum Eye has been running since August of '06 in various venues and has been running every Friday since February of this year. It as a full time job getting people in the seats all by yourself and I don't recommend it for the faint of heart, but I'm having a ball. Regards, Sam

The fact that his name has not been mentioned here is a very good thing. In fact I use this Magic Café forum as a useful way of learning which 'mentalists' are 'talkers' rather than 'doers'.
There are many people on these boards, selling their overpriced ebooks to each other, who I have yet to see a single performance clip from. And when I have seen a clip..... Oh boy! |

I just learned about Sam's show the other day while I was looking for venues for a long term project I'm working on. The Soho Playhouse, where his show is playing, is also the home of "Simon Lovell's Strange and Unusual Hobbies." I saw Lovell do a brief act at Fantasma Magic's one year anniversary party in May. He was quite funny and a little raunchy.
I'm planning on seeing Sam's show in the next month or two, as soon as my schedule permits. This is almost embarrassing to admit but although I've seen everyone from Dunninger to Derren Brown on TV I don't believe I've ever seen a live mentalist show.
I'm selling my hardcover autographed limited edition copy of Jerome Finley's "Thought Veil"

I took my family to NY and whilst there we went to see Sam Eaton's show.
It was great. He looked after us very well. The Theatre ( Snapple ) is just off, practically on, Broadway. The show is an intimate affair, and reminded me of Marc Salem a little, but more gentle. The effects were entertaining and one or two had me completely stumped. It was also very family friendly, which was a real positive. Definitely recommended! She said she didn't. His remark to her was, "I like my way of doing it a lot better than your way of not doing it." Last year I made a real effort to start doing paid performances, and things are starting to move in the right direction. Take care, Bobby

I know sam and his protege Paul Carpenter. Nice guys. Worth the price of tickets. Paul helped me with a NYC theater gig I had.
Sam has a great phone book test as well. What he does, he does incredibly well. |
