But where's the "effect"? the payoff? the entertainment?
having complete control over someone may not make comfortable viewing for some people..

If you were to ask me, this could make for an excellent routine. However, if this were performed solely, it's absolute rubbish. This is not an effect, but could be one phase of a larger routine.
If anyone has any details on how to accomplish this, could you please PM me? I would also like to know more details on the nature of the side effects. I think finding a person that is in proper health to perform this on could create a humourous moment on stage if scripted properly. . . also would require proper scripting for if your random participant is not in proper health. There's a difference between being funny and being insulting. Thanks in advance, /paul.f |

This seems like a really dangerous stuff to do on a spectator, you can never know if your subject as a medical condition wich would make this extremely dangerous. Especially if you tell them it's suggestion and that it's actually a physical manipulation. Messing with someone's back is NEVER a good idea.
I'd stay away from this if you don't want to hurt someone accidently :/
If I had a nickel for everytime I was wrong, I'd be broke

I too would be very interested in learning more about what the technique is. If anybody has any info on this, and is willing to PM, please feel free to do so.

I think I've got it. You just do a Phoenix Eye Knuckle Punch anywhere in the central spine. The swallow reflex of your spectator fires making it impossible to swallow. that's when you ask them to try and swallow. You don't need to aim for a pressure point. Much too hard and could be dangerous.

Hmmm...taking away a person's ability to swallow? You must have been practicing on my ex-girlfriend.
Yeah, I know, juvenile humor, but someone had to say it. :) |

Hi all... first post on the Café
I just wanted to say "Hi" and whatnot... this method sounds like something I could use in a little routine Ive been working on involving post-meal "food magic" there are a few funny moments involving the idea of using hypnosis and suggestion for dieting and weight loss... this could be used as a potentially humorous off-hand convincer... as in the only "foolproof" way to lose weight is to remove the ability to swallow. I dunno, really looking forward to finding out if this could be both safe and practical to use in a partly humor oriented hypnosis way. I gotta say... as this is my first time posting, Ive really enjoyed reading everyones thoughts on the Café for some time. Now hopefully I can get up and maintain the courage to contribute my ideas and thoughts as well. |
