Does anyone know any kind of chemicals you can buy from the local drug to make Think Ink? That’s the stuff that changes water to ink then back again. It’s called Think Ink because it does it on its own without touching the water. The oxy clean can do it, but you have to put your hand in the water and that would tip it off that you had some kind of bleaching agent palmed in your hand.

There is an effect that I purchased at Hank Lee's called P.O.W.E.R where water turns instantly black. If you PM me, I will explain the chemicals involved.
Also sands of Time uses a similar principle with different chemicals. I can also let you in on those. just promise not to blow yourself up!

No. Sands of Time won't do it. It's a clock reaction.
You will have to find someone who has the formula for this one, Pascoe.
Why don't you see if Tupac has written it up somewhere?

That is an oscillating clock reaction, a bit different from the clock reaction of think ink. A version was on the market years ago under the name "blue lighting".
The best place to find this stuff is in the Chemical Demonstrations books by Bassam Z. Shakhashiri. These are for real Chemistry Teachers or advanced students; if you don't understand this stuff, leave it alone!

Enough would you. Why do you pick apart everything I do? I seem to remember you miss spelling Ching Ling Foo, but until now, I said nothing. I am just like everyone else here trying to talk to my fellow magician's and you have made my life miserable.

I have the Orville Meyer book. I think Think Ink is in it. I will look and see if the formula is listed.
As I remember some of the chemicals are toxic. It is also very hard to get these chemicals in a post 911 world.

I found the formula in "Magic in a Modern Manner" by Orville Meyer. It is very complicated to make up.
Looking over the chemicals, you will never be able to get them unless you have security clearance from the Pentagon. You are certainly not going to be able to go to the corner druggist and buy them. Remember this was written in 1949 and it was a different world.

You might be surprised.
Most chemicals are not that hard to get.
Unless they are used to make explosives or drugs, you can get just about any chemical you want online.

You cold do any version of Think ink and then use a clear glass rod/magic wand/or anything else that has your oxy clean or citrc acid or what ever on it (depending on your think ink formula). That would change it back. Experiment. You only may need a few grains/crystals to do it depending on the volume of your solution.
Think Ink is also found in Modern Chemical Magic book.

Steve Spangler explains Think Ink very well in this video, you can also buy the chemicals you need in a kit for the Think Ink Effect - http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/product/think-ink
