I'm the opposite of Brent in what materials I've seen. I don't have any of Jack Turk's or Dave Dee's materials.
I have a copy of Eric Paul's "How to be your area's top children's entertainer" course (got it years ago), and it is quite good. Most of the material in it I already knew, because I have been running a magic business for a few years, and I had already solved many of the problems myself. It was nice to see his point of view on a few topics. I really liked his bonus of the re-print rights to the party tips book. I adapted his take on the idea, and have put it to good use over the past few years. I think it was a great investment. - Donald P.S. I'm the type of person that tends to find something good and worthwhile in every marketing / business product I've bought.

Can anyone comment on the whole Jack Turk/Dave Dee thing? Does Dave Dee still offer his own course or did he sell everything to Jack? I seem to remember that Jack was "handling" Dave's stuff, I could be wrong though...

Jack OWNS "The Magic Marketing Center" and ALL of the Dave Dee Marketing products. Most he either HAS updated or is in the process of doing so. Dave has NOTHING to do with marketing to magicians any longer.

Fast Eddie,
I signed up for the free course on Eric Paul's website, and after reading the first 4 emails he sent, I asked to be unsubscribed. The content was so repetitive, and every email was so long, and tried so hard to sell me more stuff, that I figured it wasn't worth searching through all that. I know there are other courses out there that spell things out black and white, plain and simple. Judging from his emails, I would stay away from his marketing material, even though they promise to "book you a ton of a shows". Just my thoughts -Kevin |

Actually, I've been leaning towards Eric's course. I am reluctant to buy because, as I've stated earlier, he has not replied to my email or pm.

Nope, just out working. So, I would give Eric the benefit of the doubt. Regarding his program, I've used it to great success. It really has helped me become one of the busiest children entertainers in my area (about 250 shows per year). Brian |

Hi there,
Thought I'd chime in here. Dean-o alerted me to this post. Thanks Brian for the backing, yes it is a VERY busy time of year to say the least. However, I never received an email from Mr. "Fast Eddie" and believe me, I rarely check my "PM". (I will now though) I always respond to emails. It may take a day or two, but I'll get back with you for sure. It was probably a "spam" filter issue or soemthing like that. Sorry for any inconvenience. To answer the question in the post - I would get it all. I have and I use it all. Not to be harsh, but here's a dose of reality - If you are concerned about a measly $97 investment that goes directly into your business and teaches you how to generate a life-time of income - you may not be ready for any of the courses mentioned. I agree with Donald, I have yet to get any marketing course where I haven't learned something valuable. Now granted, my eyes are different. I am more concerned with what is right about something than what is wrong. Just take a look at all of the free marketing that has already been given to us- There is a valuable lesson in Jack's frequent emails (I read them.) There is a TON of info in my online course (I USE it!) There is a HUGE lesson in Jim's character and reputation. (I want to grow up to be like Jim!) And don't forget the absolute WEALTH of information from our friend Dean. (The most generous man alive!) I think many are missing the big picture here. Go book some shows. If you want to book more, contact one of us and we'll show you our experience. Yours in success, EP

Eric, looking at your site I am reminded instantly of the Dave Dee materials of which I have heard a lot mixed reviews. Even the first testamonial is from Dave Dee. How different are these courses?

I will say I like eric's stuff. To me IMPO his stuff has been the "real deal". Often courses tell you things that you can do and tell you things that "could" work. But I really think what Eric's puts out he has actaully done. I hope I am not proven wrong on this. But it seems like real advice.
Don't know anything about the other course that is mentioned. Ken |

Have them both.
In my short and humble opinion...buy Eric's. Great stuff for the all around children's entertainer.

Thanks Guys!
BTW, I have Ken and Tim's stuff too and use it all the time! To comment on Ken's post, my formula has always been to document what works for me and share it with those who want to get similar results. Fear not about me pretending to do something. I may not be the greatest magician alive, but I do allright. And I certainly have a good time with it all. There is nothing that is un-tested. Believe me, there are many, many campaigns and strategies that I have never shared with you because they didn't work for me. My advice: 1) Decide what you want to do 2) Find someone who's done it 3) Do what they did I think Tony Robbins was the one to expand on this, but it's pretty much the way all magicians ever started. Before the advent of books, videos and the like, it was all apprentice work. Makes sense to me, EP

Okay, I may have a vested interest here, but I'll be honest.
IMHO, you should buy everything. Buy Eric's -- he's got some great stuff. Buy Jim Snack's -- his stuff is awesome as well. Buy Julian's stuff -- he has totally rockin' advice. Buy Eddie Wade's stuff -- topnotch. Buy Dave Risley's stuff -- totally great. Hang out at Dean's board and check out all the wisdom from the folks there. And I'll only say good things about Dave Dee, because he helped open my eyes to the fact that knowing how to sell yourself is absolutely critical to your success. Bottom line: If learning the business end of this business matters to you, listen to, associate with, and grab onto all the valuable wisdom from the folks who know how business works. What's it going to cost you? A few hundred bucks? Maybe a thousand or two? And how many unused magic tricks are filling up your cabinets, drawers, and closets? I know I have hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of dollars worth of stuff that never sees the light of day. It's like an addiction.... By the way, I think the stuff I offer is not only good -- including seminars, products, and email content -- I work VERY hard to make sure it's a great value to all! I am absolutely serious in my commitment to offering value to folks - with total integrity and respect. I'm wide open to ideas on doing a better job, so help me out. P.S. By the way, absolutely do NOT limit yourself to our stuff. Go out and grab business books like "Blue Ocean Strategy," "The E-Myth," and also read the valuable info from the Harvard Business School at http://hbswk.hbs.edu/ -- this has a ton of useful insights into marketing, management, leadership, and business success.

Sorry Eric, but so far I have Jack and Jim's course. Both have great info and pearls of wisdom. I got Eric's book on being a "Successful Entertainer";however, and it has great routining ideas and routines (bill to lemon and bunny production).
Knowing me and a little bit about human nature in general all I can say is that inertia is the most powerful thing at work in all of this. (you know: an object at rest or in motion tends to stay that way unless an outside force acts upon it). IF Jim, Eric, or Jack's courses motivate one to action that is probably the one he or she will probably endorse the most. I say by the one or two that pique your interest the most and seem to fit the market that you want to niche yourself into and then follow the models they lay out for you with some tenacity. I'm an info junkey and buy teaching DVD's (as opposed to gizmos) that cover magic and business topics because I gotta know as much as possible before I leap into anything (I probably know a dozen ways to control a card to the top of the deck and almost as many ways to steal it). I'm looking at Tim Piccarillo's stuff for my next purchase. I need to swear off anything after that until I've made a few thousand in the market before getting another fix. Dean-o has them all so he knows how I am. Get a couple, see how you like them, put some of the tatics to the test, make some money, then try out something else. Don't be like me...conquer the inertia, when and if you want to change directions, then conquer your inertia again. Bill |

YEP!
Clearly I am NOT a "Children’s" entertainer (My hats of to you guys and gals!) as most would consider it... sure I have done theme parks and still do programs for schools, but not the kid show kind ( I am NOT "that" talented! It takes more than I have, that is for sure! Hehehehe!) and I still have everything I can get my hands on regardless of the 'so-called' market. Eric’s has everything you you need to know to BE your areas TOP Children’s Entertainer hands-down, AND it has TONS of solid, sound, PROVEN success info for ANY performer in ANY market! - -Hey I have used stuff found in Eric's course in the casino and trade show markets... this from a kids show course? YES! When you understand the real value of what Eric and other do… who cares what the name on the course says it’s for!
