Does anybody use coconut shells, and could they tell me how well it works as a routine? I like the idea of using coconut shells for a tropical theme.

A tropical dove pan? Use them to produce an unladen swallow.
...and you can have your squire clop them together while riding through Mercia toward Camelot! |

I'm from Manila Philippines and coconuts are bountiful. I do have a chop cup routine using a coconut shell. In the end I produce my final loads and produce coconut juice as my kicker ending. I use a bamboo stick as a wand.
Rannie PS. you can also do a shell game using 3 half coconut shells and a sponge ball.

I like the coconut juice ending. That's great! Do you have it in a clear glass, or do you go all the way and use a bamboo cup?

Rannie,
If you get a chance, you should post a picture of the wand (or the whole set for that matter) -Vinny |

I will. Post a picture as well as a video of the routine soon!

I heard that Danny Hustle is working on a C&B routine using turtle shells.
Heard him say that he was going to use Simpsons figure heads for the balls and a minature zombie for the final load. Can't wait to see it!!! |

A zombie final load? That would be awesome and a nice segue into the next bit.

I played around with a coconut for the final load in a hat, but never used it in a performance.

Do you frequently do a hat final load in your performance? -Vinny |

Oh well heck! That's cool too. "Zombify a Simpson" could be a fun routine. I had ordered some "shrunken heads" on line but they were way too big for my cups. I'd have to get some Gazzos to make that work. I put the quotes in because they were fake. Can't seem to find the real ones for the life of me, and making my own is waayyy too much trouble and the cops frown on it.
Does anyone remember the shrunken head kits from the seventies where you took an apple and hung it over a lamp and it turned into a pretty scary item? Does anyone remember the details on how you got it to look like a head?

Scott I remember making zombie heads out of apples, man that was ages ago...nope, can't really recall how it was done though other than the fact we used apples and dried 'em, sorry.

I know my kids have made zombie heads by drying potatoes as well - pretty nasty looking things, but probably a good size for a load.

The original Shankar Jr. cups were coconut shells modified to work with his routine.
Maybe as final loads you could get a lime and a coconut and drink them both together?
