Can someone suggest a good book or DVD that deals with various Math Magic effects?
I have seen effects such as 13 coins in 3 rows arranged in a triangle, and adding coins and moving them leave 13 in each row, etc...
I'm looking for effects that use simple math techniques yet appear "magic".
Any suggestions?

There are tons of books about the subject. Just use the search engine and you will find them all
There is also an entire section on this further down the road.

A couple of things about math magic I have found useful is binary numbers rock. It's crazy. People get them in Christmas crackers each year but they still get blown away by them. As you do give it a mind reading presentation blow away then explain how its really done. Something else people like as more a curiosity is something called Napier’s bones.
Enjoy your magic,
and let others enjoy it as well!

I feel that magic brings people together, anyone ever notice people tend to open up and talk to one another at the "water cooler" or around an outdoor ashtray or smoking section. Well magic is a great Ice breaker for those whom might not smoke, or would just like to entertain or produce a smile.

IMO Number Reversal! You can find it on one of Banachek's PSI Series DVDs (I think number 2) and I think it's in a Kreskin Book. Secrets of the Amzing Krekin if I'm not mistaken.

This doesn't really use math.
But, what about tossing 30 heads in a row?

Forgive the spelling error. I'm always shocked that people who are interested in a certain subject don't know about things that gear right TO that subject. The math effects I teach in MATHEMATICAL WIZARDRY are things I used way back in my teens when I did a "lightning calculation" act. I still use much of the stuff to make people think I'm a mathematical genius, when I'm not. I also teach presentation. Anyway... HL

Interesting, isn't it? Still waiting to hear if mmreed purchased a copy of MATHEMATICAL WIZARDRY. Certainly hasn't done so from me. So why ask? Just curious. HL

They are all welcome additions!

Jim Steinmyers IMPUZZABILITIES and MORE IMPUZZABILITIES has mental number effects, and prcipals that can be used for television and radio, and even effects that can be done over the phone. I use these effects daily to get bookings. Almost didn't want to post, the stuff is THAT good.

Actually, Miracle Math by you sir has been a favorite of mine for years. I will NEVER forget how at the very first close up convention Abbotts Magic ever held, you were the featured guest, and on the first night, you did your version of the magic square (taught in his "magic book"); and this is no lie, he got THREE standing ovations by the time he finished.
Great stuff Mr. Lorayne

Psychic Samurai: Forgive the long delay in answering. Many of the items in MATHEMATICAL WIZARDRY are my "favorites." But I simply blow people away with Pleasing Combination. Audience selects ANY 3-digit number. That number is multiplied by two other 3-digit numbers. In about 10 seconds you say that you've done both multiplication problems mentally, and not only that - but you've added the two answers (products). You write it down. You're checked on a calculator; you're correct! It's a "killer." Then there's Additional Adding (a 6-digit number is FREELY selected. You IMMEDIATELY "do" a column of four 5-digit numbers that total that freely selected number! No stooges, no false moves, no "monkey business." A blow-away item. Then there's the magic square stuff, the calendar stuff - I could go on and on. But I won't. HL
