I'm looking for a sheet of Steel Shim. about 0.15 mm thick.
I need very small (size of a playing card) or even better, small disc size of 1 cent coin, and hopefully as cheap as possible. What sort of retailer would stock it? |

You should be able to buy the penny shells with the shim inside, and just take them out. Adams' Magical Block would probably be the cheapest source, if you can't find just the shells by themselves.

Go to any bearing house and buy some .001" or .002" steel shim stock. For example:
this place. Cut with any pair of sharp scissors. TW

You can also take apart the magnetic security tags that are usually stuck inside of DVDs, CDs, etc. Might not be big enough for your purposes, but they are free. The ones I've played with have a small piece of foil in them that stick to a magnet nicely and are quite thin.

I have used old fashioned style razor blades with great success. Very thin, perhaps not as thin as you'd like, but very cheap and easy to acquire as you can find them at any supermarket or drug store.
