No...

He's asking what you think the best beer in the world is. So tell him or don't tell him. But the question is fair.

My answer? I dunno. The Vernon Revelations series is pretty sick though...

I'm not sure if I understand your last statement. Are you saying the Vernon series is good or bad?

The term "sick" in that context means awesome, great, etc.

I have a dvd of Francois Dupont - disguised of course - showing his legendary double-deck-back-palming! Yes, he back palms two complete, unprepared decks; and yes, he does it deceptively!
I always put that dvd in the machine when I'm frustrated and it reminds me what is possible.
Cheers!

Hey Reed,

Simon and I will be heading to the magic barn in Ashland on Thursday May 8th. That shouldn't be too far a drive for you, and we would love to see you!

For beginner in card magic I Highly recommend "Born To Perform Card Magic" by OZ Pearlman. Complete material to start card magic and clear explanation.

Bradoor is the best beer in the world. Leave Rochester NY and go to the falls side of Canada and pick up a couple of cases.

David Stone The Real Secrets Of Magic Vol 1 and 2.
They are also the DVD's with the best coin work in my opinion.

I would say that they are the best DVD's that have ever existed.

Hope this helped,

All depends what it is you want to learn and get from the DVD... the 'Best' to someone, could be the worst to someone else. For instance...someone who doesn't like Flourishes and complicated sleight of hand, isn't going to name those sorts as the 'Best' Card Magic DVD out there, so you won't get votes there, however, the people that do, will, so you will get more from those sorts of people. I think Card Magic fans are evenly balanced between flourishers and complicated sleight of hand, to that of simple and sometimes self working Magic.

Everyone will have a different view on DVDs, because we are all different and have different tastes. Even if two people like the same DVD, doesn't mean they like the DVD for the same reasons, or like the same routines from the DVDs.

For example, my thoughts on people saying the David Stone DVDs...David is a brilliant Card technician, and very creative, but, I wouldn't buy them to learn his Card Magic, I would buy them for tips etc on performing in the Real World, which is the real purpose of the DVD. David hasn't released the DVDs to show off his Magic. If he wanted, he could have released them on seperate DVDs, and he does have DVDs out just based on learning tricks. The purpose of those DVDs were to teach amateurs, hobbyists, semi pros and pros, tips that can help improve your knowledge etc from working in the real world. And in that genre, they are probably tops!

I could disect every DVD named if I wanted, but they are just my opinions, and not necessarily everyone will agree with what I say, due to the fact as said earlier in a different context altogether, we are all different.

I think there are too many to choose from to pick the Best as it were, however, I can vote for my favourite of the moment, which is the Helder Guimaraes 'Small Miracles' DVD which is all Card Magic, 9 effects, all very visual, logical and Magical. Also beautifully constructed and you can tell why the guy is a FISM Card Magic winner.

That being said, before I had that, Ben Earls DVDs are really incredible, and it seems a lot of people have overlooked or forgotten them already. Josh Jays Talk about Tricks DVDs are really good as well, lots of different effects, mainly cards, that have some really strong and killer Magic on them.

I'm not sure I actually use anything from it, but "The Movie" from "The Flicking Fingers" is wonderful and entertaining. Well worth watching just for the entertainment value.
