I am getting ready to release my "Rope Blendo" routine, which contains a lot more than just the "Blendo" part, but that is the part that I THINK is original. Does anyone here know of any other rope routine where you take three colored ropes (red, white, and blue for example, but actually any three colors will do) about 4 ft in length, wind them together by twirling them in the air, hand an end of one of the ropes to a spectator on each side of you and when they pull, they reveal a long single rope with the three colors spiriling down its length?
I remember three color rope routines in the past where you ended up with a rope with three separate sections, such as red white and blue, but not a complete transformation of the colors into the rope down its entire length. I'm looking for any prior effects or inventors that might need to be cited in my article. Thanks for any help you can give.

Man...This takes me back...
The Rainbow Ropes blended all 3 colors into one rope for the finale. But from what you describe, they would be 2 different effects.

Maybe I should list what I have researched so far that will be cited in more detail within the article:
The trail begins in 1943 with Hen Fetsch's "Patriotic Rope-Epic." In 1962, Tannens begins selling an effect called "Rainbow Ropes" that seems suspiciously like the Hen Fetsch trick. In 1976, Art Khan of Zanadu magic produces a color changing rope, and also makes a "Bicentenial Color Changing Rope" (red, white, blue) for the occasion. In 1980, Art Khan produces a "Multi-Colored Sucker Rope Effect" based on the earlier Rainbow Ropes, with a sucker routine added. Also in 1980, R.W. Klamm produced "Stretch-a-Rainbow." None of the above match my effect or use my methods, but can be considered prior influences on my thinking. Magic Ian also had a two rope effect that is similar in thought, but different in method.

I'll bring you up to date on "Blendo Ropes" as it is to be officially known, not by me but by my grandson, Wiz Kid Qua-Fiki. He just joined the Wiz Kids this past January (2008) and has been making rapid progress with all aspects; magic, escapes, juggling, unicycling... he's a Wiz Kid, so what do you expect? What I didn't expect was what happened when he saw me working on my Rope Blendo routine. He began making suggestions for improvements. Soon he snatched the ropes out of my hands and showed me his ideas for different handlings. When he came up with a much improved Blendo Rope ending, I gave up and decided to let him take over the project entirely.
He dictated the routine to me and I wrote it down for him because he still has difficulty expressing himself in writing. When we finished (I foolishly thought we were finished, anyway!) he showed me TWO new tricks that could be performed with the colored ropes. So we delayed the release of the e-Book until they could both be included as bonus effects. Now he has decided to write a book of escapes as his next project. To be continued... Meanwhile, here's Qua-Fiki's Blendo Ropes: http://magicnook.com/WIZj16/WIZ16-06BlendoRopesQuaFiki.htm

Welcome to the magic Café. Your grand father speaks very highly of you. I would love to see you perform.

The Wiz Kids aren't allowed to perform for other magicians. We only perform for other kids.

I am much younger than your grand father. We do not live that far apart, so perhaps some day we will meet at a magic event.

Qua-Fiki may be going to the David Ginn lecture in Middletown with Fred Goode and Jim Gerrish, but he won't be "proforming" or even performing. Jim and Fred have a rule that Wiz Kids (especially beginners) only perform for audiences their own age or younger until they get experienced enough to handle performing for adults. They also are instructed not to perform in front of other magicians until they have been cleared for that. I think that's what he was trying to tell you.
