I have a large plastic case that I got from WalMart, where I keep most of my magic stuff. That container goes in the bottom of my closet. I have a couple of different sized pencil boxes/portable desks where I keep stuff that I'm currently working on or for carrying with me. These you can get cheaply from WalMart too and, depending on what kind you get, can make a good closeup "stage". I have a waist pack that I use for walkaround.

The large container was a suggestion from my girlfriend. Where would we be without them, huh? (Probably hip deep in props)

I have a $19 Plano toolbox from Home Depot. The couple larger items went on eBay when I cleaned up while looking for the perfet box. I realized the stuff that was stashed elsewhere due to size never was pulled out.

I keep everything labeled in zip lock bags and then have 2 storage containers I bought from Target. One has tricks and the other has supplies.

There are some really great plastic storage boxes called Really Useful Boxes. They are made in many sizes and compatible sizes are stackable. They are very sturdy and are squared, not rounded or contoured like most boxes. They can be purchased at office supply stores. Highly recommended.

For some reason I can't get into using the transparent plastic storage cases. I much rather use a shoe box before using a tackle box. which I actually do. Wood boxes and cabinets are my storage solutions. I also use a violin case as one of my performing cases - really fun tiny moment of confusion for the spectators.

I would like to share a case that I had discovered at a garage sale. They are plentyfull in your local calssifieds I am sure. I found a DJ HERO RENEGADE EDITION video game with case for $20. This case is small enough to be portable/walk around and big enough to carry all you need. The legs are telescopic/adjustable, detachable and store in the case. The top can easily be altered to accept your favorite mat. Just pass on the video game contents to the game junky in your home or family. This DJ HERO RENEGADE version comes in the Playstation 3,Xbox and Wii. Again,I am sure you can find one used cheap. If someone has additional links or photos feel free to share, I think this is a little gem that everyone would like. Thanks for your time....Warren.

I keep mine wherever the wife won't find it. Running out of options, though. And I'm probably only fooling myself. Dang.

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Sounds like you need find a reasonably priced self-storage facility. I recommend them to friends, when they have things that their SOs don't approve of. It helps keep everyone sane.

Have one, thanks. That's where I keep two illusions. Probably could move a few more boxes there from the basement, though.

For smaller effects, I have them organized in small clear boxes from Office Depot with labels like "CG3" (Coin Gaff 3) and EM (Egg Magic). I keep these on bookshelves in the basement. Different sized plastic boxes (these from Target) for silks and such. The boxes lock, which keeps out the occasional moisture and wolf spiders we have here. Books, of course, go on the shelves. DVD's are kept in locking Crate containers. Slightly larger items go in an eight drawer storage system from Ikea. Flat items go in a couple of wheeled plastic doohickey organizers, also from Office Depot. The bigger stuff goes on top of the bookshelves, and the really big stuff just stays on the floor. Then I have a couple of wheeled trunks which generally remain empty, but which are packed as needed when a performance comes up. I'd probably keep them packed if I performed more often.

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

I use various cheap containers that you can purchase from walmart and target. Then I try to hide them in various locations all around the house.

I have a 24X16 barn/shed for my library and other goodies. The current wife does not go in there. Previous wives would ask, "what is this?, "when did you get this?" - lesson learned. The accumulation of wives teaches you about the world and how they see it, more wives, more lessons. Lots of lawyer fees for the knowledge.

I don't mind the wife finding my magic, it's the receipts I dread her finding......
