Would appreciate your views on the question below.
What do you think are the challenges of a full time professional magician in terms of being in it as a profession? Thanks! |

Finding work, receiving a steady income, bringing something new to the plate, not being taken seriously (yeah but what is your real job)
luke probably will think of some more, most of these ofcourse can be overcome

Here's something about it that has both pluses and minuses.
You work when others don't. What's good is that you get to operate off-peak, so you're not typically struggling with rush hour traffic. What's bad is that when your kids, friends, and family have time off, you don't. It requires a lot more long-range planning to get together with loved ones... so there's an emotional cost that comes with having a lot of shows. --Jack

The challenge is to get up, go out and do what needs to be done to make a living and be happy.
Motivation is the hardest thing. |

Donald, what are you doing here???
Get back to work!!! (Sound of whip snapping in the background!) Blair P.S. It's also great if you can hook up with another business person, even a fellow performer and build off of the synergies that develope. In coaching there are mastermind groups, and there are also accountability partners, folks who link-up to build their businesses together! I have also found getting out and attending networking functions have kept me sane.
