I would die to own this. too bad I'm already dead. hence the name, gede.
too bad santa doesn't exist, thence I could be a good boy and get one. lucky thing satan does exist. I can sell whats left of my soul. hopefully. this masterpiece would sit atop my dreadful altar, then would be buried with me when I cant use the body anymore. if only I could find some old lady to rob. Sounds great. Can spec see where the batteries go, if they turn the base upside down?

Paul and Tim -
Wow. I was looking for something like this last year... and now here it is. I also have a few questions about how customizable dead ringer is. While I like the general look, it is a little rough around the edges for my personal taste. How hard would it be to put it into a different base and modify/change/swap the wood elements? any information would be very helpful. thank you.

People have refinished and rebuilt these before with very good results.

As posted in my earlier contribution to this thread, I refinished my Dead Ringer, it looks beautiful now in its Victorian style polished mahogany finish.
I aggree that it looks too dusty and rough in its standard finish, but spend a couple of hours improving its appearance, and you have an effect of true beauty in more ways than one. At my Seances people gasp when that little crystal bell dings, - simple but so so powerful. Steve |

Well, I builded a new mentalism/bizarre routine using mesmerism stuff. In short: a hypnotized participant(no a stooge) sits in front of the bell (I say it belonged to Franz Anton Mesmer and he used it for searching any trail of animal magnetism).
Then, the mesmerized participant starts to write with automatic writing: he writes a free choosen word, a free choosen ESP symbol and a Free choosen card, from three diferent spectators. Every time the hypnotized spectator writes, the bell starts to ring, demonstrating the presence of animal magnetism. This is a very dramatic routine, actually is my closer and the Dead Ringer gives it a powerful plus: when the bell starts to ring, people is scared. Indeed, some months ago, a lady started to pray... After this routine, nothing but a deep silence is in the auditorium. This bell is one of my best purchases ever.

What about using the Remote Die Vision and the bell ringing the amount of numbers that is up on the die?
Or is that overkill? ACE

Steve:
I have both Craig's and Tim's. I love the one I had Tim custom make for me, with an Old looking box and die(I posted my routine, how it was my grandfather's, and at Halloween I used an old Abbott's manual taling skull, said it was my grandfather's skull, and it clicked it's teeth for each number, I did it at kid shows and they loved it!!! So I don't have dead ringer, there was one for sale here last week, and it sold, good price, I wish you would have replied earlier, I might have gotten it, but I can get a new one. I have a few other things on my list I have to get first for work(as a magician), some stuff I need right away, but maybe this will make a nice April Birthday present for me! thanks ACE

I just had Tim make some alterations to a Dead Ringer that I was purchasing from him, and within TWO DAYS it was done and sent out. I had it, and Dead Rap four days later. A true gentleman - and incredible craftsman. I have Ringer, Rap and Telegraph now in my "parlour" and they are such beautiful additions.

My Bell works great! I use it a lot and it has held up really well. And I have to say I order just about all of my magic through Hocus Pocus and I'm proud to say that Paul Gross is one of the most honest, up-front magic dealers I know. Plus he will make things right should an order get messed up somehow. Remember Paul is human and so are the people who pack, send and deliver our magic and things can and will happen. But we should be happy that people like Paul are out there doing the best they can with our orders.
Good magic to all, Eric |
