Jerry O'Connell London, Plus wallet SMALL - By Jerry O'Connell.
Effects; NON PALM & PALMED CARD TO WALLET. *Card to zippered compartment of wallet. *Any small or slim item to zippered compartment of wallet. *Card to ID case (included) or envelope inside zippered compartment in wallet. *Confabulation routines *Peek wallet - see what a spectator has written down secretly and fairly places in wallet, without you seeing what was wrote. *Adding a packet of card into your deck without spectators knowing. Price: $87 for a new one of Penguinmagic.com Teaching: The teaching on the little booklet was good, however some bits were hard to understand, particular the loading of the ID case and confabulation routine. What a shame? Nope, because Jerry also includes a instructional DVD. The DVD was very easy to navigate the title options were 'scene selections' or 'play all'. He teaches everything you need to know about the wallet, and he teaches it pretty darn well, he adds in extra bits like how he performs each effects with the wallet, his favorite effect. *Card to zippered compartment of wallet - This is ideal as a non palmed card to wallet, the loading is very very easy, I would say with my experience in card to wallets (witch is not vast) it is the best, and also a friend of my Harry Murphey from the Café, has almost every non palmed and palm card to wallets available. He says this is one of if not his best. The card to zippered compartment can also be done very smoothly if you can palm too. It works either way. The card to zippered compartment is my best feature on this wallet right now, as I don't were jacket’s all the time for the other use (Il get into that later). *Any small or slim item to zippered compartment of wallet - This is the same as above, the item fits through the same section. For this a simple routine could be vanishing a spectators ring via French drop and then get your wallet out a viola! It's in the zipped compartment! If say something thicker then 1cm and longer then a playing card an fit into the tongues and will not be able to load. *Card to ID case (included) or envelope inside zippered compartment in wallet - With the wallet AND DVD AND booklet, you also get a ID case. This is a small case slightly bigger then a playing card, one side is see-through plastic. This is fitted in the second loading feature, where you have to palm the card to load it, and the wallet must be on a inside breast pocket of a jacket. One it is loaded, the card is not only inside the zippered compartment but also in a small ID case. If you want you can not use the ID case, but use a envelope instead. The reason this is not my best feature of the wallet is because it is not instant reset like above, after you finish the effect you have to install the ID case or envelope again, witch can take 5 - 10 seconds and you can do it in front of your spectators. Another reason this is not my favorite feature is because loading the palmed card can be a tad tricky sometimes I found. It's not a major problem if your work on it though. The instructional DVD gives you info like the dimensions and the net for making your own envelopes out of paper to save money, I though this was really nice. *Confabulation routines - Not much too say here, it's a great great routine. The DVD supplies a comedy confab routine, but if you want you can present this as serious mentalism. You will need a extra something. I haven’t preformed this yet because I haven’t had the extra something, but when I have more time on my hands I’ll defiantly give it a go. The routine is very strong and from the DVD looks easy. *Peek wallet - see what a spectator has written down secretly and fairly places in wallet, without you seeing what was wrote - This is a VERY nice peek wallet. self working and very easy. If your gutsy and also control your spectators right, they can even put the to-be peeked item in themselves. GREAT feature to have. *Adding a packet of card into your deck without spectators knowing - What the label says... This is pretty straight forward too. You can use this to add Gaffs or dups or whatever floats your boat into your deck without your spectators knowing. The DVD will explain how. Quality of materials: The JOL wallet is made from real leather, and the inside material is very nice too. The quality of the product is top notch, don't expect another card to wallet with much better or better quality at all. Harry Murphey, who I mentioned above said he has had this wallet for 25 years and it works like new. not only is the wallet good quality but also is the ID case. Nice. To sum that up, very high standard of quality here. Difficulty from; *Card to zippered compartment of wallet - EASY *Any small or slim item to zippered compartment of wallet - EASY *Card to ID case (included) or envelope inside zippered compartment in wallet - MEDIUM *Confabulation routines - EASY *Peek wallet - see what a spectator has written down secretly and fairly places in wallet, without you seeing what was wrote - EASY *Adding a packet of card into your deck without spectators knowing - EASY Applications: The effects this wallet displays can make a very strong magic and mentalism! This wallet can be used in TONS of card effects as closer, or just as a effect in it's self, ones you’ve preformed a the card to wallet effect, there is not much you can do to top it. The wallet can also be used if your prop less and all you have is some paper a pen and your wallet (peel device usageee). Basically, you will sue this wallet ALOT. Other thoughts: The wallet can be used as a normal wallet (I use it as a normal wallet). You can fit as many notes as you want, credit cards AND even packet tricks. Yup there is a nice little place for packet tricks, brilliant! Another part of the wallet is a little window space, where I keep a prediction card, or sometimes I use it as a gag for getting the card to wallet wrong... then reveal from the zippered compartments. Overall Rating: I never rate anything a 10/10 (Nik knows why ), so I’ll say this; If you want to buy a GREAT card to wallet get this, and you will also get the other stuff with it. I honestly believe this is one of the best buys I’ve had in magic. As Akira would say HOTTTT SAUCEEEE! |

You missed one thing that makes it useless for anyone who wants to use this as his every day wallet. There is no zippered pocket for coins!!!! So far old BKM is only wallet on the market I have found had this feature.

My JOL wallet has a pocket for coins on the back with a snap closure. Can't remember if mine is the Small Plus though or another of the JOLs. But I'll tell you one thing - I love it! Beautiful and well made. Worth every penny.

Here is my 'ten-penneth': I really don't think that the absence of a coin purse is an issue for me. I just carry a small separate coin purs.

I used to carry coins in my wallet but stop doing so as that will prolong the life and quality of my wallet.

With this wallet you can do card to wallet with 3 different spectators. First is a palm to wallet. The second is with the no palm method. The third is with a d----le backer already in one of the slots. It is my favorite wallet. Wish it was a little smaller for my back pocket. But do use in my jacket for performing...

I use it as my everday wallet. I've never carried coins in my wallet in my life.
I have the large, coat pocket wallet. I put my checkbook on the left side, with my cash in the slot behind the checkbook. All my credit cards and membership cards (Costco, Sam's Club, etc) are in the right side. So it makes sense that this would be the wallet I carry around with me, and I'm loaded for bear all the time. When I was paying for a meal at a restaurant, the cashier commented on what a beautiful wallet it was.

I have a large plus wallet. I like it so much that I purchased the small version.
The leather is different, it is softer. My large wallet has the Jerry O'Connell logo embossed on the lining. The new wallet does not have this, it is plain black. I am concerned that it may be a fake. Or perhaps someone else is making them for Wizard Craft. I purchased it through a credible dealer. Has anyone else noticed this? Best Jonathan |

Yes, I own the smaller version and his the logo on the lining. I bought the LARGE version and it's the same one that you described, plain black, no logo and I thought is was FAKE!
But those are the new version and to be honest ... I don't like it so I sold the LARGE version. D. |

Is the large Plus suitable for the full version of Kolossal Killer please?

Nope. You won't be able to get the proper stuff into the wallet to perform KK. I really like my JOL wallet, but I've got one of Knenton's custom made wallets for KK which I carry around when I'm not wearing a coat for the JOL wallet.
I have a friend who uses his regular (non-magic) wallet for KK. It's a hip pocket billfold which also works perfectly for the effect. Hope this helps. |

Thanks, MJ. I could only justify spending the cash for a JOL if I could use it for KK as well as the purpose for which it was intended!
I'm currently using a 50% KK in a Stealth Assassin, but I was happier with the full version I used to carry in an ordinary billfold wallet. Maybe I'll have to start carrying two wallets. Barry |

I think two wallets would be the way to go. Use the SA as your business card case, while the hip pocket billfold could be your everyday wallet which could also be used for KK. Of course, when you have a coat on the JOL for a card to envelope is really nice. I carry my "Extreme Burn" in my JOL wallet, so in a way I feel justified carrying it because it does more than just serve as a card to wallet. Of course I don't take all wallets out for the same group. Wallets are one of the most versatile things around, so I've got my share of them; and yet I never feel like I've got enough.
Now if Daniel Garcia could just release his highly anticipated wallet, all will be good! Take care. MJ |

I have to disagree. I carry KK in my Large Plus Wallet. Their is plenty of room. You can't show the wallet empty like you can with the KK wallet, but to be honest if you perform it properly you don't need to show the spectators your wallet.

The original post of this thread concerned the "small" Plus wallet, so I must have had that in my mind while responding. Looking back at Mindmagic's question pertaining to using a JOL wallet for KK, I see that he was in fact asking about the "large" wallet. My apologies. Thanks for catching that, Darius.
I own the small Jerry O'Connell Plus wallet and I don't see any way of secretly (so extra cards aren't seen upon opening the wallet) getting the proper number of cards into the smaller wallet which would allow a quick removal of the "correct" card. But if Darius (MagicMcQuade) has been having success with the large wallet for Kolossal Killer, then I wouldn't rule out the purchase. Best of luck deciding. Best, MJ |

I've recently bought the small plus wallet, and think it's great. Not used it uder fire yet, still practising.
Does anyone else find loading a card into the ID Case a bit tricky? I often find the card gets stuck at a slight angle, so doesn't fully load into the case. It's hard to tell from touch alone whether the resistance is due to the card being stuck, or whether it's fully loaded. I'd also appreciate any tips that can be offered on loading this wallet from a rear hip-pocket. Rob |
