Lion,
The international convention is like no other. It is attended by so many that the experiences you take from there are priceless. It will be in Atlanta in 2010 and after that it is expected to head out west again for a while, so I would say go while it is still "in our back yard" so to speak. Scott
Magic is an art. I am merely a tour guide.

Thank you Scott I really appreciate that, one of the reasons I really want to go is because I've heard it wont be this close again for a while, and I figure if I'm really going to go after and pursue this Art then I might as well put the time and effort into it and meet as many ppl as I can

Scott,
I think the SAM is in Atlanta next year and the IBM will be in San Diego. Yes, go if you can drive there by all means. Richard

Ray,
I will be in the Dealers' Room there with you. Registrations for this are already in good shape. A crowd is expected. I'm lecturing in the area this week. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

There are other hotels in the area which an internet search can pull up and the hotel runs a shuttle bus to those hotels. Sharing a room can make it affordable, too. I have to admit I am passing up the hotels since I live about a 10-minute drive from the hotel. And wear your walking shoes; that is a large, confusing facility.

Bringing good walking shoes is sound advice. Sometimes I think this place is larger than Six Flags.
See you there. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

It's actually four hotels (I think) with 1881 total rooms and a convention center. If you want to find your way around the hotel, just take your children with you. They will figure out in twenty minutes what you won't figure out all week.
Interesting tidbit - they didn't sell Kodak film there - only Fuji. There is a KILLER frozen custard store there...

I am not going but I would take a cooler in with enough to eat a meal or two a day in the room. I heard the food is expensive.
Bob, I am sure you know the hotel method of making grilled cheese sandwiches or hot dogs. Just don't iron your sheets afterward with the same iron. Richard

Bob,
Will you be at IBM as a dealer or just hanging out? I need to exchange a few silks with you. Joseph Young

Hello Joseph,
I will be there as a dealer. Come by and see us. We will have loads of silk and silk tricks as well as my Walk-Around Silk to Egg and some dove magic items. As usual, as the magicians' silk importer there are plenty of things imported for the pros there that are never available in magic shops. The Silk Candy Store will be well-stocked with well over 8000 silks and silk magic tricks. Bring your checkbook. Remember that DoveLite Silk does not take credit cards like retailers do. Since you use our diamond cut silks, you know that we stock all four sizes and in all 13 colors that match your other tricks and props all the time. This is the first time ever that DoveLite has been a dealer at the IBM Convention. We look forward to seeing you there. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

It's actually a gelato shop, assuming it's the same shop that was there a few years ago. It's sort of "in the middle" of the hotel, if you can figure out where that is...
