Watching these DVDs, I felt like I am sharing Tommy's life. I would still get these 3 DVDs even for $300!
My favorite is The Tamed Card, his Two Cup Routine, Nest of Boxes version 3 and so many else! The Tamed Card is cool! It goes to my repertoire directly! The best video set forever! Michael Lam

My Tommy Wonder vol. 3 DVD just arrived, and I have just finished watching it. After watching vol. 1 a few months ago (and being very impressed with it), I was eager to check out vol. 3 for more incredible stuff.
I was not the least bit disappointed. The very first routine "Nest of Boxes" totally blew me away! It was incredible and mystifying. Imagine this: Magician borrows a spectator's watch, vanishes it, and the watch appears inside a box that has been lying on a table the whole time, in full view. Yes folks, it is that good. At no time does the magician's hands even come close to the box. The explanation for this routine simply caused my jaw to drop to the ground, because of its utmost cleverness and complexity. Apart from this handling, which is probably the most sophisticated of them all, Tommy Wonder also demonstrates and explains two other alternate endings, which are equally impressive, though not as complex. Apart from the "Nest of Boxes" routine, there are many other excellent routines in this DVD e.g., "Ambitious Card Routine", "Everywhere and Nowhere". In fact, all of Tommy Wonder's routines are very strong, because he is such a great thinker of magic. In conclusion, get all of Tommy Wonder's DVDs. Every thing he does is pure magic. |

Tommy Wonders a.k.a Jos Bema magic is brilliant. The DVDs are the same as the tricks in his two popular books, the Books of Wonder apart from a couple or so. But I still purchased them for only Tommy can perform with such professionalism and the talks on the explanation portions of the tapes with Max Maven a.k.a Phil Goldstein was one of the highlights. andy

Some of the best dvds I own. Wealth of material to chose from. Stuff you might not use as being complicated does at least provide a window into his creative mind.

Definately. I can't say I use any of his material, but his methods and psychology are superb and well worth studying.

These were the gold standard. But, Tommy could have taken a beginners magic set and wowed the crowd. He was such a gifted performer ( through hard work and dedication to the art ).

I haven't seen these dvd's yet, although I've seen some clips on the internet, and Tommy's performance inspires me already!
For sure I will look for these dvd's and experience the wonder that is Tommy Wonder. I have also seen a bit of Max Maven in his video's. Does anybody here know why Max Maven is also included in the explanation part? You really feel that the vibe of Tommy's performance that weekend was something special.

Maven is included in the explanation part as a counterpoint to Tommy 's discussions. Throughout the explanations Maven asks questions about the effects that might occur to the viewer.

Ok thanks! Was Maven also that weekend there to record a dvd? A great idea to include him in Tommy's explanation parts. I can imagine some effects will leave many questions to the viewer because they are pretty unique.
