I thought this might be fun. What are your favorite "just fun" packet tricks. Note: these cannot be tricks involving poker or bridge type cards (No Ace through King tricks). Just fun stuff. They can be gaffed or un-gaffed cards.
To start it off, here are some of my favorites (in no particular order): Pointer (Phil Goldstein) Color Monte (Jim Temple) Rabbit Test (Martin Lewis) Card Rings Plus (El Duco) Lemonstration (Max Maven) Boilermaker (Vic Trabucco) Procket (Phil Goldstein) Circus (Phil Goldstein) True Hue (Phil Goldstein) 3-Rope Card Trick (Shigeo Futagawa) Catch That Tiger (Shigeo Futagawa) (Newest Addition) Seeing Stars (Ron Frost) Stars (Gordon Bean & Larry Horowitz) Hot Dog (Nick Trost & Patrick Reymond) Pet Intelligence (Dave Mitchell) |

Thanks Kevinr, but NFW uses standard playing cards. Try to think of an effect that doesn't include the Ace through King.

The Richard Sanders effect "Stickman 4". Tons of visuals and a killer climax.

Metamorphosis from Cardshark. Very elegant. Nice finish.
I saw a video recently, I think it was Paul Hallas performing a version of Wild Card with drinks that was nice.

Monkey Monte (Color Monte with gorillas), Dollar Monte or Euro Monte, Mona Lisa´s Secret. Metamorphosis was already named.
All effects by me, sorry for this self-marketing but I waited and did not see them so far. Also I LOVE centaurs and mermaid by Juan Tamariz.

SHENANIGAN is fun, nice story line with lots of changes.
As far as the MOST FUN to perform, Dan Harlan's hold it buster..... Lots of funny lines and cool transpositions plus a vanish. Another routine that ends up as a packet trick is "think, touch and turn." |

Paul Hallas has a whole book on packet tricks called Small, But Deadly.
Great resource.

Depends what you define as 'fun' really... Well if we're talking fun for the magician...

I've just purchased and am practising Shigeo Futagawa's Hold that Tiger (sold by Meir Yedid). It's short and sweet to do!
Also, Mark Leveridge has a few older packet tricks that are fun to do - such as Witch and Prince, The Spooks and Yes and No. |
