I am way into origami, but what I have here I think would be considered Kirigami with playing card.
As far as I khnow I have created a new impossible object. I have a good method to legitimately cut and tear a single poker size US Bicycle playing card into a pair of inseparable linked rings. They can be reassembled back into the original card. I am looking for feedback on it. Lots of potential applications and a unique puzzle challenge. As far as I know, no one currently has a good method of creating this seemingly impossible object legitimately from a single playing card. If anyone knows differently please let me know. I talk more about it on my magic blog: http://quantumlyspeaking.blogspot.com/20......zle.html Thanks in advance for checking it out. Best Regards, Dan Stockwell Jr.

Hi Chris, I've gotten several requests for pics. I have a few versions using the same principle, including one where I tear a Bicycle card by hand into the linked card- video hopefully coming soon on my blog. On another thread, someone was kind enough to send a link to video demonstrating tearing a playing card very, very similarly to my technique only it appears to be a cheaper cardstock than a Bicycle (which is the specific challenge).
Here is a link to the update, including link to video on legitimately tearing a playing card into a pair of linked rings, and photos of one of my linked card designs which I call "L is for Link". http://quantumlyspeaking.blogspot.com/20......ard.html

Are the spectators able to examine your linked card after it has been made without discovering the method, or at least it being obvious to them? Also can you make it in front of them and they examine it straight away? Mike |
