Oh no! I went to Costco today. They told me they no longer sell Bicycle playing cards.
Where do I get a huge supply of Bicycles from now on? Stupid Costco!

My Costco in Colorado Springs didn't have any either and they said they don't have any on order. I went to Sam's and they had them.

It had been awhile since I'd been to Costco, and a couple weeks ago I renewed my membership. I've gone for the past 2 Sundays, and they didn't have them. THe last time I was there I asked the cashier if they were getting any more, and she had no idea, said they might be out of stock.
I think it's pretty uncommon for Costco to be out of stock for over a week on an item they're planning on getting back in, so my gut tells me that they're no longer selling them, which is a shame.
I just e-mailed Costco letting them know that the primary reason I have a membership with them is so I can get Bicycle cards. There's no reason for me to have memberships to multiple price club stores, so unless they can bring back the cards, I'll be switching to Sam's or BJ's. I'd hate to do that, because I like Costco, but Bikes are the main reason for my membership.
If you other Costco members want Bikes back, I'd suggest you also send them an email. It may not work, but neither will silence.

I spoke with a representative from costco and she told me that they recollected all the cards and sent them back to the vendor and that it is likely they will discontinue selling them.

Hmmmm. I was told they would restock them for the Christmas season. Who wants to wait that long, even if true?
Guess I'll have to sign up for Sam's Club now. :o(

Kardwell's price is $30 per dozen or $2.50 per deck. You can get decks at Wal-Mart for $1.95.

Sam's Club is about $15 for 13 decks! (And in Alabama there is a $.10/pack special tax on them.)

The problem with Sam's (at least down here) is that they are the large index cards.
Some day - I hope to find someone that only uses blue decks, so we can buy two boxes, and trade out the colors we don't use!

Keith,
I know that the Jumbo index is also there. They can get both. Ask! I never use the jumbo index one either.
If you are a business member they may be willing to just ship directly to you.

Costco had a coupon a few months ago bringing the price down to about 10 bucks a box so loaded up! I think I have about a 1/2 gross left!

I heard that US Playing Cards is moving thier manufactuing plant from Ohio to North Carolina and that production has temporaraly been interupted. Perhaps we will see them back in Costco when supplies are replanished?
I"m glad I picked up a dozen last month. that will hold me off for antother month or two.

| At our Wal-Mart here you can get a 2-pack of Bikes for $2.95. They're the ones found by the check-out counters, one deck red, the other blue. Actually I like Kardwell for the Tally-Ho's.

I really could guess that they just wait for their movement so that they don´t have to ship paper across the border from one state to another. I would just wait and see if they will ship stocks soon to Costco again. If yes you could be nearly sure that you see Bicycle cards cut from their new machine. Hope the quality improves there...

I read somewhere that the USPCC is building a large new facility in Boone County, Kentucky. But, they will continue operations in Cincinatti, as well. Don't know if it's true, but that's what I read.

My local Costco was out a few weeks ago, but I didn't want to sound a false alarm. Maybe there is something to this.

Today I bought 26 decks of regular Bicycle poker cards at Sam's in Birmingham. The price was $15.88 for each carton of 13 decks.
The beat goes on!

I got this reply from an SVP at Costco...
"At the present time we have discontinued Bicycle playing cards. Bicycle came to us earlier in the year with what our buyers felt was an unwarranted price increase. When Bicycle refused to modify the increase our buyer felt the only alternative was to stop carrying the item. Our hope is the discontinuance is temporary but the only alternative we have when faced with unrealistic price increases is to send a message to the suppliers by eliminating the item.
Obviously a decision such as this affects our Members but we hope you understand it's one of the steps we go through to keep prices low. The Buyer is in discussions with Bicycle and I hope this can be resolved soon."
So, hopefully there will be some good news on the horizon when/if they can work this out. I guess if you're one of the lucky ones whose Costco still has Bikes, you might want to stock up before they disappear.
