Didn't want to have to post here, but I have not received an email or call after purchasing this 2 days ago as an INSTANT DOWNLOAD. I've emailed them 2x and left a voice message. Aren't instant downloads automatically set up. Other Instant downloads have allowed me download privileges within minutes of payment. Are they still in business? Do they have a different system for their downloads? PayPal states they have been paid. Funny thing is I ordered something online 2 days ago, and it is being delivered by mail today!
I'm just wondering if they read these posts... |

With D&D you really can't download, you can only view the video you paid for on their site.

Thanks. So how does one gain access to these videos? Are they going to send me a code, send me a direct link via email?

I watched this the other day and I don't remember them giving any credit to Paul Harris.
Isn't this suspiciously close to a phase in Paul Harris' Rubber band Scam? I know the handling is slightly different, but it is so minute, that credit should have been given...technically, I think it's too close to have even published. |

Really? Not one comment one way or the other?

I'm not sure I would perform this as a standalone... I'm sure with some misdirection you can set up right under their noses, but why do that when you can use it in a routine and look like a real magician and not just some dweeb that does a couple of tricks. I do lots of rubberband effects and figured it out, but still have to say that it would be worth the 8 dollars because of other handlings and presentations you probably get with it... I've also discovered you can either make it stay on top, or to have shoot out of the deck- or so it appears that way. One little adjustment at the beginning of the wrap decides that one.
I'm not sure if this idea is offered on the CD or download or whatever, but I would start by pulling out a deck of cards with the rubber band already around the deck to hold them together instead of the box -only wrapping it around the deck so it appears to be wrapped the same way as when you are ready to do the miracle... Then do a card routine like ACR or whatever your heart desires... and then... as if the routine is over, wrap the deck just as it was when you brought the deck out, but this time do the "special something"... They won't be watching you like a hawk because the trick is over in their minds you appear to simply be putting the deck together and away... now set the deck on the table and kick their nu*s in. I'm sure they will appreciate this clever little ending... Instead of you bumping the table, let the spectator do it... or try using your magic wand or a pen and tap the side of the deck to force it to do the nifty move... those who know the method will know what I mean. BTW the mechanics necessary to produce the effect is different than the methods used by Doug Conn "Tricks of my Trade" book which credits Ken simmons and Jon Racherbaumer... similar results as far as the card being freed from the deck... but still different enough to matter in presentation. Once again, I'd say it's worth the 8 dollars... just make sure you routine it or you'll just be another magic dweeb. |

Thanks xcath.
When I tried to use my email address to set up a forum presence (so I can view my purchase), it somehow did not allow me to use this email it to do that. I then used another email address to set that up without any problems. Now, of course my purchase is not linked to this email address, therefore I still cannot view my purchase. I know, very confusing, but very frustrating, as I have emailed them 3x, using their ticket system and leaving a voice mail and absolutely no answer back from them. Mind you, my purchase was made on 7/14 (and registered on my PayPal as paid) and today it is 7/24. Granted it was only $8.00, but it makes me wary of buying anymore from them. I would love to give them the benefit of doubt...are they still in business?, Are they out of town on a lecture tour?...who's minding the store? I would love to view my purchase, as the effect looks so good. Any other way to get a hold of these fine young men? |

As a follow up (to those that care): I'm sorry, but that will be the last and only purchase I will make with the twins. I have left numerous "tickets" on their website (ratcheting up each request each time, and finally to critical...I know, I know, what in magic constitutes a "critical" reply), voice mail with my phone number. They have not gotten back to me (except for the automated email message). It still shows that I have not made a purchase when trying to view "my purchases". Well I'm glad I can donate $8 toward their college fund.

The effect is good, but the demovideo is not exactly what you get.
It doesn't show the full trick... |

I Love Pixel however there is one draw back you need a #16 rubber band ../ Not any longer I can now do this with a #19 band and I don't double the band.. I call it pixel #19
any one interested can pm me I will send a demo. the reason I use 19 bands because this ths the size that most band effects use vinny |

Big fan of Pixel. I have been working on a way to trigger the penetration without touching the deck or hitting the table. So far IT, ITR and Loops look promising.

I have to say it looks good but I wish the demo video showed the whole trick rather than just the revelation. (How one "gets into" an effect like this is important). Also, I was concerned about what bands might work with this so thanks for the heads up Vinny.

I too looked for a demo of the creator performing this but was not able to find it. FYI the children of youtube have been exposing this. However not one of them can set it up properly but they do expose it. We need to do more to teach kids what this is wrong. I have talked with some and many did not realize "the rules". Nor did they realize how small the business is and how giving it away takes food away from the creator's family. They say " This is a cool trick by David Jade called Pixel". this tells me they like magic but since most kids now do not learn from books or have a magic club with mentors, they really do not know the rules of magic. Also many magic videos DO NOT bother reviewing the rules.
If feel this one got all over the tube since it was under '$10, in the reach of the little nasties who like to learn on line. I remember the old days when you had to earn your wand and did not trade secrets in public. Honestly, when approached properly, these kids can change their attitude of exposure. I do think many do not even realize how public the net is. I just look at my young second cousins and what they post on Facebook for ANYONE to see. These gals are older and should know better but they seem to not have been taught about protecting themselves. Anyway, I wanted to know if the instruction is detailed since the kids on the tube can not do this well so not sure what you get for $8. Do you get to see it PERFORMED in real time. The demo as some point out is filmed for live audiences so do we get to see the entire presentation when we purchase it? |

To answer my own question, The info on the on demand is very limited and not detailed on some of the fine points. You never see a live performance. You never see David Jade perform this. One of the Buck Bros. explains this but you NEVER see a full live performance as you know was filmed for the demo. Why this is not included is strange to me. It is there, it would not cost them any more and would give those and idea how how the moves are done in real time.
What would be nice is to see the Buck Brothers have more discussion on "what to do IF" or "when you first start learning this". A good example would be what to adjust if the card flies out rather than pops to the top. I think it is that they really do not know enough about some of the ideas the buy to be able to really give full instruction. It seems in part they learn the effect for the purpose of the video but have not put allot of live experience in the effect to be able to discuss the fine points. I am not saying make this a full hour but charge $10 and give a few more minutes of details and fine points on the effects they sell. For for $8 you get the barebones but do not expect to see much from the demo/promo in the actual instruction (like in one clip you see this has seeminly occured on the spectators hand but no mention of how they pulled that off .) It matters less what you paid for this but what they are providing. Like I said, charge $2 more and give a little more if you have to. |
