My apologies for posting up an aged thread, but I've been hopping around this particular forum for my own purposes... which are obvious when you're looking into a 'periods and styles of magic' forum what those would be...
In any case, I just wanted to comment that looking around here while trying to come up with an act from the ground up (by which I mean, I'm designing the persona at the same time I'm learning my act... I figure it's a good way to make sure everything meshes). And I gotta say, this whole section has helped me out quite a bit. With so many different eras discussed, I've come to the idea of having the different characters I've thought up being intertwined. Family in fact from way back to... whenever the oldest one I reference/portray all the way to my modern 'self'. The Steampunk element in a magic performance is especially interesting to me and is certainly something I'm going to have to look into incorporating to my thoughts as cash flow will allow. |

Here is my Magneto Electric Machine, a medical device used for nervous disorders, female hysteria, and to stimulate the liver and kidneys: I know I'm a little late in getting in on this topic, but I love the term "female hysteria". Particularly knowing what it actually refers to. |

I gotta agree with Critter. If he's still selling the routine I'd love to purchase it.

I lov steampunk and am very excited to see it has a place in the world of magic, though not surprised as it seems a perfect fit. If anyone knows of any steampunk-themed shows coming up in Southern California I'd love to check one out.

Payne,
Awesome props and visual concepts as usual!! Combining all three props would make for a great display and great fun for the audience. Giving them the Steam Punk Sizzle! Great job! Curator, Looks like nothing goes to waste in your house once anything mechanical breaks down! Nice job! Chance

John,
Your Steampunk Heads Off is currently being used in the show Triumph: "It Runs on Steam" http://www.lvhilton.com/Play/Entertainme....../Triumph The show was pretty good, and it had some very interesting costumes. |
