I finally saw Inkheart.
http://www.inkheartmovie.com/ The movie is not as bad as I imagined and bring some interesting concepts. In the line of the Neverending Story or the Brothers Grimm, (but not that good), the film reminds me that we are close to the idea of storytellers apt to bring tales in reality. Or at least, we should be. Something to explore... |

Of course, the book is far better, richer.
The movie became a "race" to get to the end, and sort of swallowed up the plot and character development. I tried to contiune with the series, but they became dark and sad and did not hold my interest after the first. Some good acting in the movie, but not a strong script. I do love the idea that "reading" a story could create the Magic, to allow the characters in the story to be brought to life. That objects and people can manifest from words. Those ideas can be used literally or as metaphor by us I think. Magically Walt |

Now I'm eagerly waiting for Terry Gilliam's Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus.

Been looking forward to that for a while. Should be excellent.

In the interest of good story telling, check out 'Ink':
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1071804/ I have to admit for a low budget fantasy the story was quite well done, it's worth a look! |
