Delusional 2008-2009 Lectures Notes
by Bob Solari

These lecture notes contain 10 no nonsense, high impact, easy to learn effects guaranteed to split their skulls and crack their ribs!

* Send a Thought
Spectator names any card, spectator reaches into performers pocket and removes a single card. It's the same card the spectator just named! No indexes! No sleight of hand!

* R.I.S.E.
A card is selected and returned to deck. Deck is shuffled by spectator. Deck is returned to card case. A single card rises from the deck. It's the selected card! No threads, no wires, no elastics, no holes or slits in card case.

* PSI-Sulfur
Performer is seen holding a match book. Spectator calls out any number between 1 and 10 [no force] that's exactly how many matches left in the matchbook! Everything is 100% examinable!

* Change,Change
A penny is instantly changes to a dime on the back of spectators hand. Unique handling for this time tested classic.

* Symbol Psyche
An entertaining metal effect using different color markers. Nothing is gimmicked!

* Nailed!
Performer is seen holding 2 ordinary steel nails at his finger tips. Slowly the nails begin to bend! Bent nails are handed out for examination. Nothing hidden in your hands.

* Repair Bill
A borrowed knife is visually thrust through a borrowed bill. Bill is seen and heard tearing. Bill is immediately handed out for examination unharmed! No switches, complete with gimmick!

* X-traordinary
Spectator places an X across the face of any card. This card matches your prediction. It also has a different color back than the rest of the deck. Unique easy to make gimmick.

* Sharpie® Showdown
Three different color Sharpie® markers are examined. One marker is placed in the performers hand behind his back. The other two markers are hidden from the performers view. Immediately the performer "knows" which color Sharpie® he is holding. Easy to learn. Easy to make.

* Booksmart
Why spend hundreds of dollars on unpractical book tests. I have been performing Booksmart for over 10 years with fantastic results. Books are not gimmicked. Page number is not forced. Works 100% of the time. Different word at every performance. This one effect has fooled some of the best minds in magic!

Delusional contains some amazing effects with tons of photos.

PRICE: $14.95

I highly recommend these notes..been playing with these iseas and they are amazing. My favorites are "Send a Thought", "PSI-Sulfur", and 2 effects I wish he hadn't exposed to the magic community..(I know..selfish thoughts..but these are absolute killers) "Symbol Psyche"..one of the best one on one mental effects out there and for me one of the best book tests available.."Book Smart"..it hits right between the eyes and you can have everything examined because you are so way ahead of your audience. Very enjoyable notes.

These are a real good set of notes. The new 2010 lecture notes Anomaly pick up where these left off, very simple powerful effects you will use. Recommended.

Why call it common sense when it's so rare ?

OMG!!!! Book Smart is worth the price of admission. So easy to do once you work it up. This will get a strong reaction. Truly wish Bob didn't include this one.

PSI-Sulfur has become one of my favorites to do with a matchbook. I cannot highly recommend these notes enough. You would be hard pressed not to find at least 2-3 things you would add to your arsenal.

Delusional by Bob Solari Available from bobsolarimagic.com- $14.95.

Bob’s notes are amazing and loaded with great effects. Nailed, Book Smart, PSI-Sulfur and Send a Thought are some of the best effects out there and worth the price of the notes and a lot more. Highly Recomended.

Send a Thought
Effect: Spectator names any card, spectator reaches into performers pocket and removes a single card. It's the same card the spectator just named! No indexes! No sleight of hand!

This is a high impact effect which is a great opener or closer and is one of my favorite effects in the notes. The one-time set-up is easy and takes about 10 minutes. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a strong mentalism effect with cards.

R.I.S.E.
Effect: A card is selected and returned to deck. Deck is shuffled by spectator. Deck is returned to card case. A single card rises from the deck. It's the selected card! No threads, no wires, no elastics, no holes or slits in card case.

If you are looking for a rising card effect without a gimmicked deck and where the cards can be shuffled, this is it. It is easy to do and is a nice little quick effect.

PSI-Sulfur
Effect: Performer is seen holding a match book. Spectator calls out any number between 1 and 10 [no force] that’s exactly how many matches left in the matchbook! Everything is 100% examinable!

The thinking behind this effect is ingenious. Every time I have performed this it leaves the spectators stunned. I personally feel this is one of the best matchbook effects out there. You end clean and although there is some set-up, it is straightforward and easy. Bob provides some great ideas on how to tailor the effect for restaurant workers.

Change,Change
Effect: A penny is instantly changes to a dime on the back of spectators hand. Unique handling for this time tested classic.

This is Bob’s spin on the Double X effect without using the pen. It is a beautiful transposition that happens in a flash.

Symbol Psyche
Effect: An entertaining mental effect using different color markers. Nothing is gimmicked!

This is one of my favorite effects in the notes. It is an outstanding mental effect that is easy-to-do. Basically the performer has the spectator draw one of 4 symbols (free choice) on a slip of paper when the performer’s back is turned. The spectator is instructed to keep the folded paper in his/her hand. When the performer turns around, he correctly draws the symbol chosen and drawn by the spectator on a blank piece of paper. This is a stunner that is easy to do and uses no stooges. The set-up takes minutes and this is a real-worker.

Nailed!

Effect: Performer is seen holding 2 ordinary steel nails at his finger tips. Slowly the nails begin to bend! Bent nails are handed out for examination. Nothing hidden in your hands.

Nailed is worth the price of the notes and a whole lot more. The look on the spectators faces when the nails are seen bending in the performer’s hand is priceless. Nailed is easy-to-do and giving out the nails as a souvenir at the end-of-the-effect makes for a memorable moment. Nailed is my new opener. I cannot recommend the effect enough as Nailed is something your spectators will be talking about for a long time.

Repair Bill
Effect: A borrowed knife is visually thrust through a borrowed bill. Bill is seen and heard tearing. Bill is immediately handed out for examination unharmed! No switches, complete with gimmick!

This is a very clever torn-and-restored bill effect and Bob provides the special something with the notes to make this miracle possible. It is extremely easy-to-do and you end clean. After playing around with Repair Bill for 5-10 minutes you will have it down and have a fun little effect on your hands.

X-traordinary
Effect: Spectator places an X across the face of any card. This card matches your prediction. It also has a different color back than the rest of the deck. Unique easy to make gimmick.

This is a very creative effect and employs a very unique gimmick which is not difficult to make.

Sharpie® Showdown
Effect: Three different color Sharpie® markers are examined. One marker is placed in the performers hand behind his back. The other two markers are hidden from the performers view. Immediately the performer "knows" which color Sharpie® he is holding. Easy to learn. Easy to make.

This is an easy mentalism effect that you can carry with you at all times. It uses a prop that everyone is extremely familiar with and is a stunner when the performer names the marker chosen by the spectator.

Booksmart
Effect: Why spend hundreds of dollars on unpractical book tests. I have been performing Booksmart for over 10 years with fantastic results. Books are not gimmicked. Page number is not forced. Works 100% of the time. Different word at every performance. This one effect has fooled some of the best minds in magic!

Book Smart is worth the price of the notes and a lot more. It is one of my favorite effects in the notes and is now the only book test I perform. When I first read how it was done I smacked myself at how direct, powerful and easy it was. I have performed this for laypeople and magicians and it is a stunner. There is a one-time preparation that needs to be done (not the books as they are not gimmicked) but it is easy-to-do and you are set forever. Highly recommended.

Keep the creative effects coming Bob and thank you for making your notes available.

Again, thanks for the reccommendation. I just got it today and have to agree with the above 100%. All magic should be this simiple and direct. Really clean thinking, and the book test got me working out easy ways to expand on it. Loot well spent!

I can see the first effect, Send a Thought, being a great Mentalism opener that establishes the tone of the show. And no sleights. Beautiful.

I am glad you are happy with your purchase and I feel Bob’s G.O.D. Notes are just as good if not better than his Delusional Lecture Notes. I agree the effects are simple and direct with high impact. Book Smart has so many possibilities and Send A Thought is a stunner. I love Nailed because it is extremely visual and the giveaway at the end is something most people will keep forever. I am having a blast performing Nailed and am getting excellent feedback while performing this.

We can only hope Bob keeps coming up with his creative ideas.
