There is a write up in a 2007 issue of MUM by John Moering where he mentions Harry's performance of Magic Square from his "Wise Guy" act. Does anyone know if there are lecture notes or anything like that where this routine is written up?

There is a set of notes called "Contented Tables" that contains magic square items. It's about 50 8.5x11 pages in length. It was printed in 2008.

They were reprinted? Aww...and here I was thrilled to have something that I felt was part of a transient experience...seriously, the notes are fantastic. The Magic Square wasn't something I seriously gave thought to before, but after seeing him lecture and upon reading the notes many, many times, I've decided to delve deeper into this thing called mathemagic.

And of course..he had this and more for sale at the Convention in London this weekend. Great show. Two tricks... Performed and explained over about 3 hours, and not a dull moment.... Set of lecture notes apparently has the entire script for the magic square routine.

Anyone know where I can buy this? I learn how to do magic squares from the small book by Sam Dalal. Here is the perfect magic square for 62 that was done after reading this book: http://amazingvijay.wordpress.com/2012/02/19/magic-square/
Thanks for your help,

I got my notes from Ricky Boone, who seems to be friends with Harry. Google his name and Magic Central. The notes DO NOT contain the script for Harry's magic square routine, which, as Harry himself points out, is unique to his style, with callbacks, etc. that fit into his unique act. What they do contain is a number of very thoughtful methods and analyses of magic squares. The standout idea, in my opinion, is the method using one large piece of paper. I'll say no more about it, except that it is exceptionally easy to use (trivial, really) because he's solved all problems of memory, calculation, etc, so the performer won't have to do ANY of that, instead only focusing on presentation. It also epitomizes the "packs flat, plays big" concept,in more ways than one!

I got mine from Ricky D Boone also. Harry lives in Asheville now, so Ricky's shop carries several of Harry's things. A very worthwhile book.
