I can't find any reviews. Anyone have it to comment?

The magician presents a blue deck of cards. The backs and fronts of the cards reveal it is a 52 card regular deck. The deck is placed face up on the table. This is the last time the magician will touch the deck.
The spectator is asked to cut the deck around the mid point, and place the cut-off pile alongside the other pile. They then select one of the two piles, and the other pile is placed to one side. The magician asks the spectator to deal the cards face-up from the face-up pile, and stop at ANY card they wish. Which they do. A genuinely free choice.
The selection is placed away from the rest of the deck, and the magician now takes the remaining cards and specifies that truly, the spectator had a free choice, and the card they chose isn't a duplicate of any of the other blue backed cards.
Upon turning over the selection the spectator is GOBSMACKED to see that not only is the card a red backed one, it also has their name written across it? (Or any message you want).
You will receive all necessary cards to get you started and enter the Gobsdmacked World, a full-colour instructional leaflet containing everything you need to perform Gobsmacked and a Multi-Regional DVD explaining the full working of Gobsmacked with many more suggestions on using Gobsmacked in Various scenarios from Birthday parties to coorporate functions. Be sure to check out the accompanying DVD for more ideas, handlings and much more!

This looks identical (except not as clean) to Self-Evident by David Regal. That effect can be found on his first DVD set and in his book Close-Up and Personal. It's one of the best self-working tricks ever in my opinion.

This is SLOB - Simon Lovell's Oblique Brainwave - which he released many many years ago. Great effect but does it really need a dvd as well as the instruction booklet??

Nope - it was in Star Quality, a book of my magic written by Harry Lorayne in the mid 80s.
I have since come up with what I think is a better trick using the same method - it's in Approaching Magic.

It's a cute trick, but it wouldn't be my choice, considering how many awesome card tricks are out there. This seems like it should just be included in a book of card tricks - I agree with Mark Powell that it hardly justifies a DVD on its own.
There are no gimmicks to be provided, but just a method. But maybe no one learns from books any more?
Realistically, I'd expect a lot more tricks on a DVD that is purely tutorial.
The limitations of this effect are well disguised in the demo video, which is fair enough, as this would definitely be a jaw-dropping effect when performed in a close-up set. I suspect purchasers might be hoping for a more "incredible" method than that actually used!

I watched his demo ed a few years ago at a convention and loved it. I thought about it for a bit over night and worked it out in my head and made one up myself. Been using it on and off ever since , very strong to laymen and can be customised to suit the occasion. Watch it a few times and as a magician you will suss it but laymen definately will not IMO
