Hi Guys

If you were to put together a 10 - 15 minute act that had to fit into your Wallet, what would you include. (The only rules being that you have to limit yourself to one packet trick (Cards) Only, and that you have to include a minimum of 6 effects that fit in your wallet)

If you want to include gimmicks like a ring flight or TT then you can add them on after the main effects in your wallet.

THE REASON for this is that I would like to put a whole act together whereby I am always ready to perform at a moments notice , BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY have an act that can be used for a pro walk around gig should I not have my other props such as a deck of cards on me etc.

I am trying to do just that and have so far come up with the following: (not in any particular order)

1 Coins
2 Powerball 60
3 Bill for no tip bill switch
4 The 4 Aces for Dr Daleys Last Trick
5 Loops
6 Vortex Cards for coin productions and Matrix Effects
7 Pocket Space Plus

In addition to the above list I also carry around the Presto Ring Flight by Tony Clark, a TT, A piece of string and a ring (Considering getting a PK ring for Impromptu Chop Cup Etc.) Again most of these items are normal items that you would have with you anyway e.g. I wear the ring and I put my real Keys on the Presto Rig Flight.

I'd really like to hear your suggestions

Many Thanks
Kevinr

Flash Paper
Mini Cards (you could do a mini card version of b'wave)
Folding Coin
Daniel Garcias Scatter
Wonderland Bill
Magi-Card
Mental Yarn

Best thing though IMHO is the stealth assassin wallet + business cards

Borrowed coin or ring to wallet.

Still curious as to what size and type of wallet? A Himber? A Hip Pocket? Inquiring mind wants to know.

I currently carry and perform the following from my wallet

Fire from wallet (Jardonnet)
Torn 2 Pieces (Shawn Farquahar)
Extreme Burn
Business Cards (for a variety of tricks)
Picture of my "Pride and Joy" (always gets either a laugh or groan)
Gaff for Card to Shoe Red Bicycle (David Kaplan)

I do carry a mini Visine bottle in my pocket filled with lighter fluid so I can always be ready to light the wallet, and a mini sharpie so a spec can sign the photo for Torn 2 Pieces. I also always carry a Morgan and a Triple Threat gaff. These could easily fit in the wallet. It's just easier to carry them in a pocket.

Not yet! It's the only mini bottle I have, so I know what it is. I also drew a scull and crossbones on it with a sharpie.

I forgot to mention that I also always carry a few mismade bills in my wallet. They can be used for a trick or just a sight gag. "Anyone need quarters?"

You know, Marke Jenests Magicard is good for some laughs and has some predictions as well. If it is often overlooked.

I just thought you could have the Queen SIGNED if you use ungaffed version of B'Wave (D'Wave?) and mix 'em up, place 'em on table and cop the signed card and reproduce from zipper compartment in wallet. So... a card to wallet without a deck.

Another thought is to get some thoughts from the 'magic at a moments notice' forum/threads because by definition these items/tricks will take no pocket or wallet space for that matter (perfect - leaves you more room for the things you do want).
All it takes is rehearsal time at home to enable you to apparently impromptu, pick up items lying around and utilise them.
eg
- paper napkins (in place of sponges - see greg wilson dvds for ideas if needed)
- salt pot vanish (the old wrap a paper napkin round it trick)
- tricks with peoples' coins and notes; again the other forum will help and so will Greg Wilsons' dvds esp 'on the spot'
- lots more in the other forum, do take a look

all the best & good luck!

Some nice ideas and routines guys.

Pete, let's just say a hip wallet for now as they tend to be the most popular. (And yes it can be a card to wallet if you want)Also the main idea is that you could have a set that you could perform in a T- Shirt and Jeans or a suit or at any time at a moments notice.

Mr Smiles, you have some valid points in terms of additional impromptu magic with borrowed items.

I have a routine involving the Haunted Key, an Invisible deck and the dime & penny but everything is linked together via my wallet. I strap the deck to the wallet with 2 rubber bands. In the wallet I've got MagiCard (as someone said, it is overlooked) and sometimes I carry Twisted Sisters around.

But the routine uses the pockets of an ordinary tri-fold wallet to make the dime penetrate through the deck of cards and get stuck in the wallet

1-) My Hip Wallet itself is an Himber so is effect #1
2-) P.Page's Easy Money
3-) 4 Half Dollars for Coin Across
4-) Gregory Wilson's Foreign Affair
5-) W.Dobson's "Spot On" ( My new "baby")

As a follow-up, I recently got the Royal version of the Card to Wallet and it ROCKS (thanks TMC reviews!). Inside I now carry:
- Lubor's Lens
- MagiCard
- Tickets for One-Two punch (in Michael Weber's Lifesavers)
- Two more TA effects: the Weirdling and Pack of Lies, or Casanova Inc if I'm in the mood
- A couple of bucks for money tricks, or something for the TA Pen if I carry that
- for now I'm keeping a gaffed card (or two) in the zippered section just in case I want it for an "impromptu" performance using a borrowed deck.

This, plus a deck of cards, permanent marker, stealth pen and extra pen (for the Lens) there's a LOT of magic in not a lot of space. Don't get me started on what to cram in an Altoid's tin

Not exactly walk-around, since his nickname is "the neighborhood bicycle". LOL

I've been trying to make more of my repertoire such that I could walk into a store and buy a few things, so that I could do an entire stand-up show. For walk-around, it would be much easier - items could usually be found at the event.

You know with the 4 aces if you add the Queen of Hearts and a Joker (you would be set to do two packet tricks - Daily's Last Trick and Color Monte routine)

If your wallet has a change pocket in it you could carry a Johnson Half Shell and 4 matching halves.

http://www.mentalvoyage.com/index_files/products.htm Paul has 4 wallet sized mentalism cards that you can add. Not to mention he has some wallets coming out soon.

http://www.mentalvoyage.com/index_files/TWO.htm This is a download from Paul on a Wallet Organizer (BTW I don't work for Paul and he wouldn't know me from Adam. Just a satisfied customer of his products.)
