Kyle, I'm down in south GA. What part of GA are you in?

That's all nice country. I worked in Tiger, GA several decades ago for awhile. My nephew's mother owns a bar in Clayton... Woody's.

South GA is hot and full of snakes and bugs. The only magicians I get to talk to are to the internet with the exception of Arthur Atsma who works the road and stops by. I sold my last banjo because the fingerboard at the nut was too narrow. My fingers don't flex like they used to.

It is nice country! I'm familiar with Tiger...it's only about 25-30 minutes from my hometown! Bill Monroe had an illegitimate daughter there and wrote the song "Little Georgia Rose" about her.

I'm about the same with magicians...there are only about 3 in the area...but that's not a bad thing

I don't know Arthur super well, we've met in passing a few times when I've dropped in at the Roswell Ring 9 meetings if I happened to be passing through the area. I look forward to meeting you at Bob's place!

Thanks, likewise. As it turns out. September 11 is the same day that the induction ceremony for the GA Music Hall of Fame is taking place. I spent the past two years working to get a little known, hometown bluesman into the HOF and we made it happen. The inductees were announced a few days ago. I plan to be at Bob's however since they really don't need me in Atlanta for that, unless of course, they do.

You do know that there is a scheduled bull session for magic prop builders here? That should be a great time to share some real problem solving ideas with the pros.

It's time to let me know if you are coming and I'll save you a space.

Paisa23,

Don't just send him, come with him! We will have Texans here camping on the ranch down by the lake and some that already have reservations at the motel. (If he is stationed at Maxwell, he is about 45 minutes away. It is about five miles off Exit 208 on I-65 and there is only one turn. Since we are magicians, it will be marked!)

Here is the website
http://magicvalleymagic.com/

The dates are September 10-11 and it is FREE! Theater seating for the two shows is limited, so RSVP is just smart.

Bob, your comment about the road being "marked" reminded me of the sign we saw on I55 on our way up here to Chicago to visit the grandkids --- Rough and Smooth ahead! I wonder how many other magician oriented signs we could spot along the road, perhaps starting with all the advertisements for strippers.

Wow!! Never thought about it. This would make a fun highway road game for a car load of magicians.

Thanks...

Not familiar with One Ahead.

I have seen many things around here that could have a magician tie-in if you have a twisted enough brain.

There is a bakery up the road called Ricky J's. I also know where there is a mailbox post made from a big auger bit... obviously Melinda's summer home. Last time I was in the bank, I had to ask the teller for a pen(n).

How do I go about making a formal reservation for this? Also, I live in FL and will be leaving after work on Friday so I will probably be arriving in the wee hours of the morning. Am I welcome to just park on site and sleep in my van/ set up camp?

Weird is part of the job.

Alex,

I sent you an email. We look forward to seeing you here. Thanks too for making magicians aware that we do need to know who is coming and the number of people in their party so we can reserve show tickets, space, etc. for them. Also, talent is welcome!

Please check http://magicvalleymagic.com/ often. The information changes!

Looks like the slate is pretty much cleared with the HOF committee for me to be at Bob's. I've been working on the website for the event and really wanted to be there.

Just posted, some new information on the site within the past hour:

Yea! We don't have to share Tabman's time with Georgia that weekend.

Tabman has been doing a great job with the website and helping organize this Magicians' Flea Market. We get to pick his brain for prop building too! It's hard to keep his good work a secret. It shows!

Wait until we get him here on Magic Valley Ranch! If you want into the entertainment business, you've got to meet this guy. (Make him do some book signing too!)

Thank you, Tabby!

Did you notice that you are also the MC for the Friday night show?
